While we've got a musical bent going on here..what about those songs that we all have & must absolutely must be played at No11,12,13. For me Led Zepps "whole lotta love" just doesn't feel right under 10. Or Floyds Comfortably Numb. Gilmores guitar just lifts the hair off the back of your neck (fek they were good live). Come on you got one give..
A little diverse but here goes...
Massive Attack - the first song on Mezzanine. If it's not at 11 you'll never get the vibe.
Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears. The combination of drop-D tuning (not to mention everything detuned half a tone) with the slide riff and the heavy riff is just awesome. And the guitar solo is magic.
The Who - Who Are You
Stones - Sympathy for the Devil
You know why for both of these...
By the way... if we're talking songs to play at 11 then the list has to include Spinal Tap.
After all it was Nigel Tufnel who had the idea for an amp that goes to 11... "Well its 1 louder innit..."
Best songs...
Big Bottom - "Talk about buncakes my girls gottem"
Heavy Duty - "I just want to make some eardrums bleed..."
I've been getting into Devin Townsend Project lately, pick anything from this vid - start at 2 mins.
Ears always end up bleeding cos the volume just goes up & up..
does any one get annoyed by some people in the carpark while changing/packing playing music at 11+ in their cars after wing/kite/surfing sesh ?
+1 Massive attacks mezzanine
Led Zepps .Black dog
David bowie's heroes
Floyd's time or money
my wife loves and Favourite "must be full blast" is Queen, we will rock you. if the start of that song don't get you nothing will
This one as loud as it can go without blowing the speakers.
The sixth Rolling Stone, Bobby Keys, really does the job with the sax.
