R.I.P Sterling. He had a great innings. Didn't quite go sliding to his grave sideways but had several attempts at it.

Damn right there!!
How many times can a bloke nearly be killed and happily jump back in for more.
One of his little tricks to minimise tyre changes during long distance racing, was to drive in the oily bits of road! [at those speeds this requires big balls]
Years ago I saw a photo of his "trophy room" - on prominent display were what looked like oversized pretzels [steering wheels salvaged from his wrecks]
I still get a laugh thinking about the traffic copper who pulled him over for speeding - and not knowing who the driver was, he tried to give Stirling a lecture..
Mr Plod : "Who do you think you are - Fangio??"
Stirling : "Nah mate - I beat him last week"
It doesn't feel right telling Stirling to rest in peace...
Stirling old boy - floor it and drown out those harps!! let the angels hear some real music for once!!
Stirling Moss was my boyhood messiah of speed , who engrained my need for speed to this day.
He won so many races , so much respect as a hard core racer .
Hail the speed king , now gone , but etched forever in many Motorsport racing fans !
I'm sure he would have slid sideways into heaven .
