Last night my Kawasaki klr650 motorcycle was stolen from our driveway.Heavy duty steel cable was cut to gain access. The bike has red plastics with a red and black tank. It is an adventure touring bike and looks like a big off-road motorcycle. The rego is1BU681. It has a top box on the back rack. If you saw a bike like this or a bike under a grey cover on a ute or trailer last night please let me know. The bike has 3500km on the clock and looks new.The bike has a very distinctive part from a waist harness attached.the bike was taken last night 29/11/2014 from East Fremantle. Any information that might stop criminals from stealing our stuff that we work really hard for is good info.If you or your friend are offered cheap bike parts please consider where they might come from. I am gutted by this low act and it has messed up lots of plans for now.If you can keep an eye out for me It would be much appreciated. Please ring Greg 0428378593 if you have any information that might help.
Sorry to hear that. A couple of places to register your theft (make sure you supply photo):

In future, don't have your motorcycle in view from the road. It invites a theft (that's WA, NT, SA.. everywhere. No suburb is immune). As soon as you get home, wheel it into the garage, back yard, dining room etc out of view. This is the best security policy.
pictures!!!!!! I have no idea what all that stuff you described looks like.
recently had a distinctive push bike stolen, and pictures and put up notices on facebook and all around town in delis, fish and chippies video stores. MOST shops were happy to help, except the bigger IGA stores , which have made special community notice boards where you have to pay for A4 size posters
Enjoy that bit of free publicity IGA
in any posters put up the local police station number first (with your police incident number)THEN your own mobile.
i had people ringing and texting all weekend as we tracked the culprit down, they all rang the cops first , so they were getting keen to get him out of the way.
in the end it was the thiefs neighbour ,who got it Back.
I suspect that often it is somebody who regularly passes the bike that has helped themselves ie locals. and somebody who knows them will be happy to shop them.

Thanks for that tip. A great way of dealing with police officers who want an easy shift
Thanks for the advice and the views. I have posted on the sites suggested and included photos of similar bikes as I had not taken any of my bike.Only had it for a month and was preparing it for a road trip to the Moto GP at the island next year and a return trip through the centre. Spent many hours and dollars and have upgrades coming from the states. It was insured but not for its real value. Have learnt that RAC insurance do not refund any premiums in the event of a total loss so might be wise to check our policies and pay by the month. When premium and excess is combined actual payout is eroded. Guess it's worth reading the PDF after all. Also have to wait 14 days for payout in event of recovery of bike.Visited a number of bike shops and locksmiths with flyer and all were helpful and supportive. The thieves don't have keys and may be looking for some. I sail and surf and like many have had my car broken into by selfish ............ while doing what I love. The only way to beat them is to make sure there are more good guys and girls than bad and look after each other in and out of the water. Thanks for the support keep sharing the info about the bike and thanks sea breeze for the forum. Marshy??

Perhaps not intuitive but paying by the month doesn't improve your situation. The insurer will just deduct the full year's premium before the payout anyway. Bastards!
Yes Cambodge this is true - but if you check the fine print you will see that it was a 12 mth policy - paid in monthly instalments. You can get policies that are month to month but as a general rule house, contents, motor vehicles etc are 12 mth policies.
Hope you get yr bike back Marshy but would not be holding my breath - at least not in the condition that you lost it in.
Hate to say this but they won't be looking for keys as it's not very hard to by pass the key by adding the appropriate resistor and connecting the wires !
I am offering $1000 reward for return of bike in original condition. Please continue to spread the word.
