When I was 14 i worked for my fathers building company for two weeks over the school holidays labouring to purchase myself a cheap $1200 chinese 125cc dirt bike aka thumpster. The salesmen at the shop told me and my very worried mother that my body would break before the motorbike would.
1 week later i was doing a tabletop jump and the rear shock when through the seat straight into my arse. I was not impressed but my mother was.. do not buy chinese crap..
Bought a second hand Pajero that i thought would still be covered by new car warranty , on online auction only to find when i picked it up that it had 90000km on the clock but had not had the service records in the owners manual to verify its warranty.
Anyway on the way home it sciezed the turbo due to lack of oil and it had silastic stuck in the oil supply line to the turbo.
Three thousand dollars later , for a new turbo, had to be genuine because of new style , and a month later the timing chain breaks , because a previous mechanic had left the chain tensioner and chain guide loose.
Engine is still out of the car due to Mitsubishi Australia unable to supply suitable head gasket and timing gear for camshaft.
(have been waiting 3 weeks for parts now)
Never again will i buy a car without inspecting it prior to purchase.
Aand never online auction .
Excluding stocks.
Landrover Freelander......... was by far the worst purchase I've ever made.

Greg Webber Gutter Lover - no projection down the line at all. How does a board not go in fat, hollow Or walls waves? Piece of the proverbial.
Kite Surfing lessons - between work, geography, surfing and family I didn't get the winds or time to reinforce any skills picked up. Related, kite board and kites. Except one of the kites got swapped for my first longboard so that was alright and one of the kite boards finished up contributing to an eight foot semigun.
A VW Passat. Engineered obsolescence. In every single part.
Oil and gas well completions. Basically if you can add up, subtract, have reasonable comprehension and can think things through you are a candidate. In other words, finish year 10. I have a commerce degree as well but I don't enjoy my major...I unwisely did it when I was straight out of school because it seemed a sure path to making a decent living, gave lots of surf time etc. Life is good though.....glass is half full etc. Travelling for work has taught me that I am lucky to have an education. EDIT. I guess my point is I spent quite a lot of time and money on formal qualifications that I didn't really need to end up with a job that anyone with a year 10 education could succeed at.
