Hey guys hope you picked a winner today! A friend bought to my attention the killing of 1000s of horses who cannot be competitive in racing and this was highlighted by the death of two horses in one race today. Yet this is common acceptable practise? (Not to mention the years of whipping and abuse when training).
I enjoy the odd punt myself but then again also support the culling of sharks as I hate hypocrites, and lets face it, they are both as bad as eachother (though one could argue horses dont kill people so should have more rights than a shark, see the irony building??)
Anyway I hope bjshack and all his mates enjoyed their seafood platters while watching and supporting the slaughter of innocent creatures while bgoating and discussing how bad their fellow men are for wanting to pop a few rouge sharks that threaten the life of others.
Spot on. An even better example is the recent 'management' of aggressive dingos on Fraser Island. Some of the animals have attacked humans. They are the purest examples of Dingos on the East coast but nobody is silly enough to advocate a ban on their culling.
In my mind the only way to advocate for a ban on shark management while forgetting about the hundreds of more important environmental and animal rights issues here in Australia is if one:
A) Is ignorant
B) Has elevated the importance of Sharks above Humans and the rest of the animal kingdom (and horses)
Yeah just like the stinging jelly fish there's just too many now in our tropical waters ....
We as humans should control all living creatures so that the world is a safer place.......
We could take out just the perfect balance so we can all live in perfect harmony......
yeah OK why not
Genesis 1:25-26
God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 26Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

And how did that work out for almighty God? At least he had the foresight to get rid of the dinosaurs first.
more to the why are you quoting rubish from a book written by semi illiterate people with an agenda and then translated by another set of people with their own agenda.
The bible is about as reliable as a game of chinese whispers in a kindergaten.

Thanks for thinking of me today, I've obviously got under your skin and got you thinking (Thats a good thing IMHO), But how is it that you presume/assume to know what my thoughts are on Horse racing
But whilst you are contemplating life and the fact that your a Hypocrite (Your words), is a horse a Apex predictor in the most important Ecosystem on this planet
"Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image"
Was he talking to himself in the third person?
actually i created him in the image of the trilogy so thats why its "Our"
I sit here eating my shark fin soup

Ever heard of the Killer Whale?

Its OK. I think some people got it.
The amount of uneducated bigots who think they are experts in horse racing after reading 2 news articles on the deaths of two race horses after Melbourne cup is astounding.
These race horses are treated like kings. Seriously, better than any horse on a farm. They are bred to race, it's not like the distances or training they undergo is cruel or not doable. Guess what happens to a horse on a farm if it breaks its leg severely? yep thats right, its put down! The rehabilitation is just too much for the horse and owners to undergo. Horse racing is not cruel, the people behind it are.
My dog is happy as there will be no shortage of dog food this week
And Im happy as Im out of glue
I feel sorry for the poor bloke that was being stoked in flying the Aussie flag as he has done at the cup for many years, and is now copping massive abuse for being cruel?? .
Being a prized winning retired male horse would be a good life put to stud but if injured through your career you get shafted pretty quick if your not making any money
So I'm guessing an 'apex predictor' is some sort of geometry measuring thing used by Egyptian pyramid builders...?

No struggle, I enjoy our fun banter.. wit
Im not sure what an Apex Predictor actually is though

edit.....sorry old timer someone just took your greenie away...awwwww
Store its seaman in a testube

I bet all those people protesting at the shark cull meeting have blood money on there hands..
Irony (from Ancient Greek ε?ρωνε?α (eironeía), meaning "dissimulation, feigned ignorance"[1]), in its broadest sense, is a rhetorical device, literary technique, or event characterized by an incongruity, or contrast, between what the expectations of a situation are and what is really the case,

Why stop at Sharks and Dingoes? May as well just kill (manage) anything that annoys you.. Muslims, sh$t drivers and fat people probably caused more deaths than sharks or dingoes in the last few years.. We need a strong leader like that Hitler fella to start taking care of these sorts of problems..
Off the richter already? This thread is only on page 1. Well at least your comment has proven Mike Godwin to be correct.
