The music..... The relentless drum machine correct doof doof kickdrum on every beat with sandpaper like irritating artificial high-hat scuffing over the top, on and on and on and on and on, then...it stops ! ahhh... but no. it starts up again exactly the same. sometimes a whinning square wave melody in the background. Its crap ! I can understand people at a rave dancing trancelike to it while they're on drugs but WHY would you play it on a boat in a marina in the middle of the day???? huh ????
........even country music is better ! there, I've said it...
LOL...
Can't be that bad can it!? You should blast back some country music, or Rod Stewart or the BeeGees just for fun! [}:)]
Not that I am inciting either of those actions.
just be happy you didn't have to listen to screamo or some whining rich hollywood person who can afford to have their tone electronicly corrected. (lady gaga for example)
How sad am I, I just sat through nearly 4 minutes of that video before I asked myself why am I doing this? I think I was in a trance And I wasn't even on drugs!
Fantasia!? Sounded like Carl Cox? I had a few of those gigs on cassette back in the days.
Mask smeared in vicks and early mornings at Elevation night club.
Im gon' send in to outer space, to find another race. I take your brain to another dimension
Had a chat to Sharif Gallall the other night (ex JJJ Groove train DJ) laffin about the old school and hazy/crazy days. Glad to get out of that era alive and with some grey matter still functioning!!
Ha ha - also had to laff at how bad the podium dancres were in the above clip. I think that little routine is called the '3 step catch the ride up wedgy'.
Mmmm.. FM boots n hot pants - all is forgiven!!
Back in the day late eighties if i remember properly a mate of mine sad that there was a party going on and would i like to come......sure i said.
So hop in a car and drive to the M25, the orbital rd around London, meet in a service station he said off exit whatever he said.
What an exciting time. Us and a couple thousand other nutters all driving around the m25 Beeping horns hanging out of windows only to arrive in a paddock in the middle of nowhere and dance like fools til the sun came up. Incredible.
Mobile phones were rare then and all communication was done via pirate radio stations who would play Hardcore Techno and in between "shouts out" announce which exit to meet at.
Was glad to be a part of it then, now i'm happy its over
It all got destroyed by the British authorities and the introduction of the "criminal justice bill" which enabled police to break up an "unauthorised" gathering of 9 or more people who were listening to electronic music.
EDIT: Few years later we walked to this.....http://www.greenleft.org.au/1994/164/8616 a year after that i left.
