Today I kite foiled the Axis Spitfire 840 in about 10 k wind on lake water with 8m kite.
As my previous experience windwing these wings are very user friendly.

Good to hear

I am buying into the hype of this new release from Axis and figure it is almost time to move from my Liquid Force Impulse from the early years.

at 95kg, am thinking that the larger 900 could work as prone and kitefoil front wing.

I am 74 kg and it was about 10kn breeze, no white caps. My top speed was 15kn however, I was not try for speed and all was easy.

I've not tried the spit but I've ridden both the ART 899 and HPS 930 for kite foil. They both work so the Spit 900 would as well. However it depends on the feel you're looking for - at that size there's no getting around the fact that they are big wide wings and not the sort of thing you can chuck around as much as something smaller. More of a deliberate carve / on rails feeling.

Thanks KBGhost for your feedback.

I prefer to use the smallest drifting kites possible. My current favorite is the Gin Marabou 2 in 4m, when white caps arrive, and chase swells out to sea with as little kite-pull as possible. In effect I want to downwind-foil without the car shuttle hassle, oversized boards or SUP paddles.

My main decision driver is that my current foil from 2018 is 1138cm2 in area... which equates to the Axis Spitfire 960 (area of 1196cm2) or 900 (area of 1099cm2). It appears that these would also be the ideal size for prone surfing at my weight... which I am keen to start.

Almost ready to pull the trigger...

Had another session on the Spitfire 840 and it just gets better. Without out any real effort did 17kn speed in about 10 kn wind on 8m BRM Cloud kite.
Now looking forward to a bit more wind.
