Anyone tried the Foil Drive Assist in very light wind.
It may take a bit of thinking to set up however, I can see some benefits eg, easier to get to deep water in direct on shore breezes, possibly able to use a smaller kite and Foil plus if all goes wrong easier to get back to shore start point.
Just trying to justify for multiple foiling activities.
The battery box needs to be above the water to maintain contact with the hand controller. On a kiteboard the board would sink as you got up on it and you would loose connection. But it works for winging very well, getting going in 3-4 knots is possible.
Thanks, hadn't thought of that.
I've seen a video of a SUP foiler mounting the battery on his backpack and using a leash for the power cable.
Takuma foil assist soon to be released will solve all this. Although you'd need to ride Takuma foils. The battery and unit is integrated inside the fuselage.
