Seems my days of doing the L2L are over, such a shame my second favourite event of the year seems to now always be destined to be on the same day as my favourite event of the year.

101 entries received to date - two weeks in.

So, there are still 34 spots available! That said, they will all go....

This week I met with the amazing team at Fremantle Sailing Club - and I confirm that we will be their guests and enjoy having the Ballot Night at Fremantle Sailing Club at 6pm, with the bar open from 5pm. Bar style food will be available for purchase and I have no doubt a few complimentary Red Bulls will be on offer!

Set the date in your diary to catch up with your kite racing mates and enjoy a pre season cold one.

6pm. Fremantle Sailing Club. Friday 28th October.

And, sneak preview... The 2016 Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton Lycras - in production * now * and en route from France very soon!
For those new to the race... we have a * passage de boucle * (that's French for a custom hole for your harness, smart!) and in the back of the lycra is a custom sleeve/ pocket where you store two flares, that ideally you never require!

Peter McKewen, winner from 2015, gets to wear lycra # 1 in yellow in 2016 and Steph Bridge female winner from 2015 will wear # 151 in 2016.

Hey Tim,

I've checked the race manual and the website and can't find the answer to this one - apologies if it is published somewhere already. What is your procedure for changing the date to a reserve day? Do you have a deadline for making the decision? What forecast(s) will you check to see if it is forecast to be below 15kts?

Cheers,

Pat

Hi Pat and All Racers,

We will use the combined resources of www.bom.gov.au and also www.bom.gov.au/australia/meteye/ and of course www.seabreeze.com.au to make a reasoned and well informed decision that will be published between 5pm and 6pm this Thursday afternoon.
This decision will be posted on: www.seabreeze.com.au and also emailed to all racers.

Tim Turner, Race Director.

The foil boys will all be frothing, meanwhile 106 twintip riders get eaten by white pointers.
Either that or the foil race finishes at Leighton, and the twintip race finishes 5 hours later at burns beach

Todays wind would be pretty nice, would be less of a drift for the finish.

MetEye (www.bom.gov.au/australia/meteye/) is looking more positive than seabreeze. Currently showing 15-20 knots for Saturday and 20-25 for Sunday. Fingers crossed it continues to improve!
