This board looks pretty sweet!

"The construction is a unique design with multi-laminate plywood and coated and strengthened with a water proof marine lacquer" - strengthened!

"The fins are 2 inch in depth and shaped from plastic for ultimate carving" - ultimate!

"The foot straps are ergonomically situated" - handy!

Thats not a bad idea. Kinda like Kramer's Book about Coffee tables that transformed into a coffee table. This kiteboard could be great for upwind and when you come in you can have a nice little picnic on it.

Thanks to your post, by tomorrow he'll have 50 people watching it with no intention of buying. Poor guy's gonna be disappointed when the auction ends.

Light wind destroyer.... 148X 61..Quad concave to single convex (depending on which end), ABS tuned rails, Variable tension footpads, Dual wood core. Marine ply fins that double as legs, suit wakestyle, waves, freestyle, freeride....comes with free board leash, PVC S&M suit and gimp mask

And I was looking at the O8' undergrounds, no comparison

$25? Tell him he's dreaming...

Reminds me of my sailing dinghy with seat belt style hiking straps... mmmnnn my feet are worn and bleeding...

I like the comment about "ultimate carving." I didn't realise that we went kitesurfing on a nicely groomed piste...

Pity I don't live near Bondi. I would be keen to buy the board just to meet the guy, take his photo and post it on Seabreeze...

I shudder to think what his kite looks like...

Perhaps as a subsitute for a photo someone might want to log onto e-bay and ask tubzyubzy (yes, thats his e-bay user name) a question or two? You have 44 hours before the auction ends. Your time starts......Now!

Seen an optomotrist lately dave?....The Undergrounds might be very nice boards, but do they have "A clear firm polycarbonate handle allows for easy handling of the kiteboard"? (which looks suspiciously like a length of clear PVC tubing) Hoping for a response to my question....

They are the graphics for the 08 Underground boards, but they are not the correct outlines for the boards.
I know because I have some and I was riding one last night for an hour, mmmmmm, nice.
There will be a demo 1.32 set up today, my own board is a 1.28 and Marine Sudre has a 1.28 she is taking to Tannum/Coconet on the weekend.

Man this post cracked me up... Tubzyubzy would seriously be so excited that all these people are watching his auction.

- Upwind ability
- Abiltiy to actually cut a turn
- Soft landings
- Rocker
- Polycarbonate core
- Durability
- Wont get you laughed at
- Wont give kitesurfing a bad name

I think the fact that he uses "Prototype" makes me laugh the most. I will pay $25 for a pic of this guy so I can use it as my profile picture.

Tobes - "Hi, how does this kiteboard compare to production ones? Does it
jump well? Is it flat plywood or is it bent? How wide is it? Cheers!"

tubzyubzy - "Well, I have ridden plenty of production boards and in terms of performance this one is just as good and for a much lower cost. The width at the side and front rail is a little wider than most production boards but I designed it like that so if the wind dies down there is more planeing surface to keep you a float.
Side rail 44cm
Front rail 30cm
I haven't been in enough wind to get any serious air but it is lightweight compared to other boards and has great flex with stability.
If you are local and want to take a look you can call me (mobile number)"

Anyone want to give him a ring?

Just as good! If only I could make 5 "just as good, lightweight compared to other boards, great flex with stability" kiteboards out of a sheet of plywood, some seatbelt webbing, a chopping board, a bit of PVC tubing and some tek screws!

Not very perceptive of me.... I bow to both your superior perceptiveness and eyesight.

That almost invisible "Handle" is a single core, dual thickness prototype, custom, ergonomically designed "RAD GRAB-TM",copyrighted. It also loves the chop when used as a hookah hose. The "RAD GRAB-TMpro" is also available which uses reinforced PVC tubing and is better for someone with my eyesight and has a textured grip provided by those white nylon threads.
Elementary my dear Tobes......
BTW...great thread.

Nice work tobes. Fascinating to get inside the mind of one of the sports tue innovators

Is it just me or does anyone else think this is the guy who rights 90% of the 'new seasons' blurbs by ALL the kite companies???? His phone is sure to ring hot in a couple of months when the new gear is ready to hit the shops... ca-ching.. ca-ching

Oh man... I think I have just wet myself.

I just sent him this question too will post his response....

"Hi Tubzyubzy,

I am seriously thinking about buying this board. I am a beginner kiterider and think this board would be good surface area to help stay upright in light wind for a back mobe and going upwind.

Is this a good board for the surf?

Do you think I would be able to do very high jumps with this board?

Do you post this item to queensland even if buyer pays postage?

Thankyou."

Hey Echo, maybe you should actually buy the board - it's not that much money...it seems like it would have heaps of flex and you wouldn't break your leg again when you get back on the water.....
......that is if you could actually handle all of the people laughing their MFA off at you

Gold. Nothing like a board with with leg saving suspension. Had the knee fixed yet Mike?

What the fk are those bindings from? They look like water ski straps crossed with wake bindings. Got to love the retro 80s styling

lol... man I miss these kind of threads. Did anyone actually click on to the part of the message to tubzywubzy that I am a beginner and need the board to practice back mobes. He hasn't responded yet, maybe he knows I am taking the piss.

He must be thinking that the ebay kiteboarding market is a goldmine after getting all these page visits lol. Maybe he will start a press for his custom prototype board?

OK, but I want to know is, who is going to fork out $25 just for the priviledge of meeting the guy, getting a photo with him and posting it on Seabreeze?

I'll tell you what, I'll be the financial backing for this ($25 = £11.50 = 30 min of work to me) I'll electronic transfer the money to the buyer's account on production of a photo of the seller, and a video of someone actually using the board to practice a back mobe... ;-)

I reckon its worth it...

Actually, that board reminds of something... the movie "Be Kind, Rewind"!!!!

Its a genuine board, it's a specially made, custom "Sweded" version! And Sweded versions are more expensive because they come from Sweden.

Anyone out there prepared to make a Sweded kite?
