Hey guys/girls,
We had another mad weekend full of 18+kts so us guys at BBK threw togther a new vid with some of the footage we got.
Had some kiters from all around, even a couple from goldy.
Hope you enjoy!
Now that's more like it! Sunshine and nice wind, better than this rainy up and down dangerous **** in the west! Bring on summer
I didn't get out of bed today until it hit 35 knots. Good video though thanks for posting!
Yourd be in bed most year if you waited for 35 knots!... Sorta seems and unhealthy way of living!
Had a sick session yesterday at South Cottesloe just after 2pm(place where Coldshot passed R.I.P) was out on the 7m with 1 other guy who was on a 7m also, another guy rocked up on a 6 but didn't last long, conditions were very deceptive as I was really powered & using full depower at times, then at around 3.30 though mother nature let me know just how unpredictable she is, as a gust came through without warning, would have had to been 45kts +, no black clouds, rain, ect...all happened within seconds, all of a sudden couldn't hold my edge, then I just got lofted over 5 metres in the air into a an out of control spin then dropped, pulled the safety and kite powered down, turned around & the other kiter fell victim to the gust also, thanks to the kiter ( guy mentioned earlier) who ran down and grabbed our kites as we washed up. Just shows how out of control things can get so quickly in these winter conditions when you think you have it all under control.
Those boots are so loose, why?
Ive been leaving them completely loose so save on faceplants. They stay on perfectly until I wipe out, then I come straight out of them like straps. I know im risking one foot coming out and twisting my ankle, but have not had that problem yet but happened all the time with straps
That

That's a mental place to kite in 40+ knots.
The whole beach has solid limestone underneath the sand, the water is only knee deep for a long way out, with solid limstone all the way out.
Swanbourne is also mental in those sort of winds - hole-y limestone everywhere, catch your foot under it and get hit by a 40 knot gust, your foot will rip clean off at the ankle.

Faark yeh, would hate to get a twisted ankle. I'm going a road trip soon, I'm definitely stopping in Bowen if it's windy.
