Ok there is about 40k km of coast line around this big island.
In your opinion which location is best for kiting according to the following list of requirements:

1) Windy (winter and summer)
2) Warm all year round (outside and in)
3) Lifestyle (talking pubs, cafes, restaurants, scenery)
4) Waves (so no inland locations)

I'm thinking probably QLD, but I have never kited there, so don't know about the wind conditions throughout the year. And if QLD where exactly?

Exmouth / Ningaloo coast. Augusta is fantastic and of course Gero / Coronation Beach. Lots of undiscovered and little known spots along the WA coast. Never kited the East Coast so these are just spots I rate from personal experience.

Looks really good but one big problem is, it doesn't tick the lifestyle option. It's in the middle of nowhere...

+ 1 for Exmouth, doesn't get any better.
The most beautiful turquoise water, skimming over turtles etc.
Primo flat water
For surfing the Bombie when its cross off can be all time goodness,
Top it off with warm water and a good sprinkling of backpackers and its as close to perfection as your get.

Not sure what the fuss is with Augusta. Few times I went there the pond was gusty and crowded, and the open ocean was choppy, with on-shore winds, and waves crushing on my back as I tried to get out past the whitewash into rolling swell. Water is coldish - wetsuit handy most of the year, definitely outside summer months...

I think the first requirement is: does your general location allow you to kite every week/weekend? And how far are you prepared to travel? I am prepared to travel a few hours north or south to kite.

Even though Kajo stipulated waves only, i am happy with a bit of everything.....

I get in about 150 sessions a year, evenly spread over all the seasons. 50 percent wave/ 50 percent foil in summer. 40 percent TT, 30 percent wave, 30 percent foil in winter.

I live in Umina NSW (good for southerlies /wave/ freestyle/ foil). (Summer/winter)

Go 2 hours north to Birubi for west/ south west wave spot (winter)

Go 1 hour north to Birdie Beach for northeast wave/downwinder or Lake Munmorah for foil/freestyle. (Summer)

Go 1 hour north to Tuggerah Lake for north west and south West TT. (Winter)

Go 1 hour north to Belmont/Swansea for north west and south west TT and Foil. (Winter).

I would love the water to far north Queensland warm, but I am pretty happy.

Kajo, you need to move an hour north.

Kirra, QLD in summer. When the wind picks up the surfers disappear. At low tide theres waves out the back, and flatwater lagoon inside depending on the sandbank setup. Warm all year round, excess pubs/cafes, not windy ALL the time but there are plenty of other things to keep you occupied.

The fuss with Augusta is - it has butter flat water and a 40 knot seabreeze, so your boostality is unlimited

Yeah one hour North would make a world of a difference in terms of kiting locations. Still it gets chilly down here in winters.
We basically need a Central Coast location in QLD, that would be gold.

Nene Valley in South Oz, water is bloody cold, sea weed all over the place, no one else to annoy me, wind all year round. Love it.
Forgot to mention, got all wind directions covered except northerlies, bloody have to drive 50k away to get a good wave, annoying.

Canton is a great spot, but lacks; clear water, real waves to kite, nightlife (specified in original post), multiple cafes/restuarants (also specified in OP), great surfing locally or within half an hour away, much warmer in winter, heat in summer is comparable, similar cost of living, hot babes on the beach....

Yep Ian. It's a great spot that part of the world and an unknown jewel.

Funny how home is where the heart is though.

We have a lot of fun in Darwin. It's always warm , wind varies but we can handle almost all directions within 5- 10 minutes.
And can kite at least 100 times per year.

Waves in wet season. Stingers and crocs add another element.

And if no good we just have a beer. Or two, and talk s...

Putting warm water as a requirement pretty much makes all your kiting spots crap.
Once you've experienced an Augusta, Gero or Capetown big nuts seabreeze it seems pointless travelling to grovel around in 20 knot rubbish.

I did a jump in Augusta once and I was airborne for at least 20 minutes.

out of WA, exmouth, gero, lancelin and perth and augusta there all good but i would chose exmount because its warmer and good amount of wind. if you surf as well hit augusta for all the local breaks in the winter.

lol that irukandji is the size of a $2 coin . how the fk are you going to see that flying along lol

You have to understand how a jellyfish think. It hates windy ruff conditions. Hence why the jelly fish season is in summer when it's calm. In winter they hide deep in the creeks away from the wind.
Bluebottles on the other hand are annoying little ****ers and can get in the road.
If your worrying about a jellyfish then why are you kiteboarding. You should take up "clash of clans" on the iPad, way safer and zero chance of getting stung by a jelly.

Caloundra Queensland ticks all boxes, breaking code by revealing though.
Here is just one small taste of the surf from earlier in the year:
