Hi All,
Just wondering what everyone's recommendations are for the biggest boosting kite recently released?
I have previously always had an 11m Edge in my arsenal, which seems to get proper-crunk at about 25 knots.

Does the edge still take the cake for huge air, and sustained hangtime, or are there other contenders to the crown of king sh#t airs?

I personally like a c kite boost. Go up fast, come down faster. But I definitely the BEST TS is a boosting weapon.

And definitely get a woo. For a bit of fun/ bragging rights.

Edge or Naish Draft for the sustained hangtime. Core riots go pretty big too.

yeah. High aspect foils are on the list. I have 12 chrono 10 and 13 edge.

Man the chrono provides some rip you off the water lift and staggering glide when it's powered up. It's harder to time wave lips and not as easy to shut the power down when ripping through surf.

My call. Flat water boosting. Chrono beats the edge. Boosting of wave lips in the swell edge beats chrono.

There are a number of kites that will provide the height but not all will give the hangtime as well.

Also some work well in small sizes but not so great in the bigger sizes.Smaller race foils like the Sonic R1 should win at both if the rider has the technique. This will change as the bigger sizes turn slower and you can't get the height but they will always win on the hang.

C kites like the torch will give the height with the correct technique as proven in the Red Bull King of the Air but won't have any where near the hang of the other options.

With the high aspect race LEI kites I find it depends on the size. In 9m and under I actually find the Draft to be the king here as it offers better landings than the Edge. At the 11m mark though the Edge is better as the big Drafts are too much of a beast. Bigger than that I actually prefer the FS Boost as it is the easiest to get along with and turns better.

Other note worthy kites are the North Rebel as always and the surprise package is the North Evo.

For what winds? Up to 9mtrs the edge is great over that it's decent , people get confused with height and hangtime, just because your up there for a decent amount of time doesn't translate to height, IMO under 10 = height over10 is hangtime, I've seen good jumps on the Evo and switch nitro, my 8 mtr flexifoil hadlow I'd is more impressive than my 7 edge but the 10 is unrecognisable in comparison , some kites IMHO automatically give decent boost/ hangtime with little rider skill or input, ie there just easy to fly, rebel ,edge ,pivot, switchblade, draft, others more c orientated require more technique and input but give more feedback and feel which makes your a better rider

Lots of people say that the switch nitro boosts a lot. I haven't tried one yet though

Shameless pimp

Just look up Kiteforum "as you know" - The Epic Screamer goes bigger and Megaloops better, 7 & 9m are awesome..

but hey, if Old man slow moving kiting is your style - stick with the Edge ..

Why not?

Personally I love boosting and then screaming through the air a long distance. The longer the better. Float gives you that.

Don't give me red thumbs if your nuts are too small to loop in 30plus knots.

I can speak from expirence.
If I want to know how to fall asleep in the air I'll ask you.

Might as well jump on the band-wagon and throw one in the ring....Chrono V2 free-ride/race being released this week.
Some of the launch images show some seriously big boosts :) Lets wait and see what sort of Woo numbers the guys clock in on the 7m & 9m.Who's the biggest boosters in WA, lets get them on the contender kites and see what they can do

I vote for an unofficial big air contest, pic it, woodies beach 3, the pond or south cott, next saturday or sunday at 4pm when the wind is above 25 knots.

I'll fly my north evo's, but buy chrono V2's if proven wrong.

I believe the rebel is close, more hang but slightly less height, the edges I used to love, big lofty jumps but feel higher than they actually go (sorry to disappoint). If you want 15+ metres you need to throw that kite around at 30+ knots.

Any challengers?? Next day above 25 knots in one of the above locations. $1 entry and winner takes all

To be honest the Naish Torch seems to be one of the highest boosting kites on the market, the Ozone C4 in smaller sizes also send you right up there.
