Slowlerna,
I lived about 5klms towards Marsa Alam from Blue Laggon for 9 months leaving in March last year Loved the place and Max and Stephania at ProKite were amazing to me.
Kited a fair bit of the coast there and was blown away by the wind consistency. Most days it cranks in from the North East by about 9;00am so there were lots of jelly leg days. I reckon on average about 20-25 kiteable days a month......

The military were the biggest issue we faced. We had to get a permit to be on the water anywhere away from the resorts. Was an interesting process but so many days with only myself and a mate on the water in perfect conditions was something I will never forget.

If your still there, try to get up to Hurghada or El Gouna. Even bigger reef lagoons and off Elgouna some swell that breaks along one of the reefs about 1klm out. cheap accom, food and drinks too.

Bedouin Camp??

Wind has been pumping everytime I've been out...its a great morning session before it gets too fat 25+, and not too sunburnt!!

You are right about Stepania, she's a good stick but a few other Italian roosters there didn't make much of an impression. Nuff said.

Had 10 days El Gouna mid-July Mangroovy Beach, cranked everyday. Was wicked, outgunned on 9m, needed a 7 on couple of days!!

Humped over to Phuket and got pumped again. On land as well : )

Loving the off season!!

You got it. Was living at the Bedouin camp, working at Sukari. In all my mining years, I never had a camp where i could wake up to 180 degree ocean views.
Cant remember the name of that little bay out in front where the zodiacs were always moored, but there were some great sessions had there, along with some downwinders to Blue Lagoon from there. Was always sketchy coming in across that shallow reef out the back.

Would still be living over there but my wife and kids really struggled with the culture and the madness that was going on around election time. My girls (then 9 and 11) saw some crazy ** that kids just should not see.

Sounds like you are living the life mate. Been hit and miss here but still a few good days. Can smell summer coming.....bring it on!
