Doing a kite trip from Townsville and going north to Port Douglas, kiting on the way.

My concern is the box jellyfish, i have heard there are nets but only good for swimming close to shore not kiting?

So any tips to avoid 'em ? Too hot for a steamer??

Any tips on the trip, top places on the way to kite?

G'day

Box Jellies and other marine stingers are of little concern during this time of the year. As the trade winds come from the East and the Jelly fish remain in the river systems from April to November roughly. Even the stinger nets that are common on the beaches up North are removed during these months as they are not required.

Remember to carry some vinegar just in case but the chances are extremely slim.

Hope this helps.
