Use Interparcel au.interparcel.com/ to arrange freight and pickup from door to door. You can compare costs accross various providers including courier please. It depends what type of ''board'' we're talking about but if it's a twin tip, you can expect to pay between $70 and $100+ for metro East Coast to metro West Coast i.e. not remote areas. If you're sending a large surfboard or SUP it can get a lot more expensive than this.

The below quotes are for Sydney to Perth for a 5kg twin tip in a box of 150x50x10cm

Make sure you don't cheat on weight and dimensions as you may get slapped with extra fees.

Online google "online freight quote" for door pickup to door delivery.
You put in guessed weight. size etc etc and a list of companies will quote.
way cheaper than interparcel and they pickup at your door. no hassle.

Hi gdownie, can you show us a ''way cheaper'' quote than the cheapest ones I posted above in my screenshot for a 5KG box of 150cmx50cmx10cm travelling from Syndey 2000 to Perth 6000 ?

I compared with other sites by googling "online freight quote" like you said. They were all more expensive compared to Interparcel, except for www.transdirect.com.au which was a mere $2.84 cheaper.

We're always on the hunt for cheap interstate shipping prices for larger items, so please share your way cheaper quotes.

yeah like I said, only $2 cheaper with transdirect. definitely not ''way cheaper'' you forget to factor in that it's a board (bulky item). Read the posts above.

Hi Christian

Is it possible to send a kite to Switzerland any idea how much that would be ? Or are they cheaper over there...asking because I know some Swiss people that would like a kite and all the third hand ones are pretty cheap here I e not much of a 'fifth hand'market there maybe.. (talking $200 range)..
Although I've known swiss people here that say they can get brand new ones in Swiss cheaper than aus so that confuses me a bit

Asking you because I know you have experience in snow kiting and they would like to use it for that also..
Also sending a board to switz is a ridiculous idea freightwise ?..
Thanx..

Hi Tim,

Any kite can be used on the snow, you just need a lot less power so a smaller kite compared to a twin tip and about the same size you would use on a hydrofoil (assuming not hydrofoil racing).

you can expect to pay about $100-$120 to send a single kite (usually between 4kg or 5kg total once packaged up with bag, etc) from Perth to Switzerland. Using Australia Post is the simplest way to do this. You may find slightly cheaper rates by digging around for online quotes (see the links above) but it's not worth the hassle if you're not going to send international parcels on a regular basis.

As for a board, yes the price will be very high as it's over 120cm long and can therefore only be sent via courier services (FeDex, DHL, etc.) A cheap quote for sending a twin tip to Europe from Perth would be somewhere around $400.

hope this helps,

Christian
