hahahaha yeah possibly everywhere but here. today as well, windy everywhere except here. its so weird you can drive an hour each way (n or s) and it can be 15 to 20 or more but nothing here. you nearly wonder whether its worth even kitesurfing at all here sometimes.

thats sucks

It has taken me days to come up with something that I hate, and now I've found it....troughs with zero swell.........3 days coming

getting my skill level up to go kiting in 4-5ft swell at middleton only to snap 3 lines in one go and have to swim/get dragged back in

its hard catching waves on a 136cm board compared to a 7ft surfboard

How did you manage that?

let me guess - dropped your kite in the surf and didn't pull the quick release...make sure that the material on your kite isn't too stretched...at least flag to one line.

no i didnt drop the kite

i stacked it and tried to save the kite from crashing and it powered up and i didnt get up and go with it i just stayed in the water and then snap

lines were pretty old and i just put too much tension in them so it was bound to happen sooner or later

was lucky i didnt pull the quick release either because 3 out of 4 lines broke so it was flagged anyway and i would have had to swim the whole way in instead of the kite draggig me in

Buying an 08 Slingshot Rev for 1800.00 and less then a month in having to replace both pulleys an bridles. 2 months in, crashing the kite leading edge down, and for no reason having the canopy tear along the stitching causing it to tear again in the middle of the canopy- then contacting the kite shop who I bought off, and them telling me SS aren't interested, and due to their lack of response nor was the shop. 4 months in having the depower rope that runs right the way through the bar fraying to the extent that it snaps on me causing the kite to fly away down wind (I was unhooked and where the leash was attached was where the rope broke). 4 months in having to have the stitching re-done on the leading edge (not the part which touches the ground) because the stitching has come away.

What do I hate about kiteboarding- SS Build quality and pretty much throwing 1800.00 down the drain.

Yes I am bitter

Isn’t this the reason we buy from local shops, so we don't get screwed when we just buy over the internet (cheaper)?.....Its called after sales ser, serv, servi....I cant remember...but its something to do with standing behind and supporting the product you are selling.

love...
5 hour sessions...wind's consistent...riding, rest, riding, eat, riding, rest, riding, riding.
big downwinder's with a whole bunch of mates all hooting each other on.
wave riding big gnarly waves.
the feel of gliding across the top of the beautiful ocean on a sunny/rainy/stormy day.
the feel of landing new tricks for the first time.
free excercise with heaps of enjoyment (doesn't get much better than that)
getting the biggest stoke and having the most fun out on the water without having to pay an entrance fee for each session (intial startup fees aside).

hate...
snapping 3 boards in the past 2 years...
ripping 2 kites and popping a bladder in the last 2weeks ...yep, kiting can be pretty expensive...ask the banks i've had to rob heh!
having a bird's nests when the wind is cranking.
overpulling a boost on a gale force day and hitting the water/concrete backwards so hard at Mach3 speed that you are winded beyond anything you thought or imangined was possible

Adz, if there was a shop where I live or anywhere within a 2 hr drive I would buy from it. All well and good when you live in a thriving metropolis, but some of us have to live in bum-f$*ksviille due to work. I had to buy from a shop over 6hrs drive-away.

Bugger, how is Bumfusville these days?....sounds like a place to avoid, unless you're that way inclined of course.....not that there's anything wrong with that.

SS screw a major percentage of their customers, I've met sp!t loads of dis-satisfied ones. We should start a club...we could call it "Up yours And" or
"The SSS Club".
Just do what everyone else has done, and never ...ever... buy anything from them again and tell everyone!
search..."the link ditty".
