Recently bought the 11" V8 bar. There was no manual that came with it. Also, the website doesn't show much on the V8. Jaystore should consider posting clear pictures/videos of all mechanisms.
Anyways, does anybody know how exactly the safety pin should stay inside? Here is mine. It goes through the loop at the end of the white rope and lays along the border of steel bar. Not sure if that is how it should be. Thanks!

Have a look at the Ryan Cootes video. 7:30 into the video.

I just got a V8 as well & yours is set up exactly the same as mine, (I know it does look a bit dodgey as all that holds the pin in place is the elastic). But so far so good, when putting it on, I've been placing the red ball at the top side or if you like "above of the power clip" (or clip supplied) - just seems to me that up there there's less chance of an accidental release up there.
Great at bit of kit
My advice and experience from using the dynabar for over 3 years now, is get rid of the red ball, just remove it. You do not need it, you have QR on your chicken loop. If you use a shackle or have removed your chicken loop and just attach your centre line rope direct to a ring then you need it, but I have never seen anyone do that here in Oz (or anywhere).
V7 and V8 are only cosmetic differences to the frame/spreader.

Only if you consider the differences between plate welded to rod (v7) and one-piece stainless steel (v8) to be "cosmetic"

Agreed, the ball is just a nuisance, got rid of it on mine.
Got rid of mine too..... Looked like it was just asking for an accidental release.
It's just not needed
G'day guys,
Anyone riding the dynabar v8 find it uncomfortable? I have bought the larger spreader as I ride a large harness but it is so flat that when I tighten my harness it digs into my both hip bones. I think I'm going to take it back as I haven't used it and get the smaller one. Alternatively get a new harness and stuff the dynabar off.
Any thoughts on this wouldbe appreciated.
Thanks
Boyler
I found the large v8 uncomfortable. It rides up to much, like crazy high and uncomfortable!
38" waist, fairly small beer gut, so the large should fit...
I've gone back to my original fixed hook (mystic warrior).
I can still ride toeside easily on the fixed hook, but haven't been back in the surf since ditching the dyna, so hopefully that's still good.
