I, the old fella was busting out some smooth moves, good waves passing through off the point, we had a nice session, and a few of the finest brews known to man
Nice Height in those shots burnsy.
Dongtown is one hell of a windy place. I like to have a mid morning nanna nap in the back of my station wagon on the beach, wake up and the winds In, open the back tailgate, rig up, go. But when the bloody kiteable wind is in at 7am, it messes with your head!
mick appreciate those brews buddy.
Thanks to the locals for sharing their wave out back with me as well (good to catch up with Tim again).
Below kind of captures the flat water spot, second shot you can kind of see the wave out back (but the swell wasn't big that day! and the wave wraps well further around). Sick spot.
My bro is now frothing to loop that flat section in 30 knots as wind really accelerates off that headland.
You dont wanna Fck up though, it's a long long swim if you get blown off that rock wall point.
Would have to be a favourite spot of mine up there eppo, the place just delivers insane wind day in day out
This is a great thread. No bagging on people, just pure stoke. Place looks EPIC! Love the shot of the dude with the surfboard, looks like he is ducking big time afraid someone is going to land on him :)
If your wind driven Dongara would be one of the most windy god forsaken spots going
I have to pinch myself at times especially winter
I'll have the place to myself,
Top crew of locals( all 6 or so)
Good to see a couple of kids getting out
Perfect bump n jump conditions, shore breaks , reef breaks, flat water sections
Some great dwinder spots heading north especially with some swell, 70klms
Looking a stunning forcast over Christmas as usual, so if you've a few days head north
come and join us up here
I got my 6m and a little brother to the Gorilla for myself for xmas Cauncy, should be an interesting combo next trip down the highway
Mattoleptic doing his stuff a week or so ago.
He can't bust 15m ... Someone has to teach him how to megaloop haha
Mick did Santa bring ya that new board mate ?
Santa Couldn't land the sledge, rudolf was s..t ting all over my roof 35knts gusting to 40
Gotta pick it up from Perth
Was the board-off because you were actually walking on that reef Eppo? Bloody shallow out there but fun
Might see you up at Horrocks on Monday or Tues if you're still there?
Up here on Horrocks beach right now pretty light. Tomoz looks hopeless to. Only 41 degrees be honest I'm glad for the break, play with my kids so they remember what their father looks like
Board off... Pretty average one, the 10m was zipping about a bit. Got rotated and messed up only just landed it and put the board offs away after that. Reef is shallow but not as shallow as our estuary. But apparently you can still get lost drifting then have to sleep the night??
Dropped into Dongora on the way up just to drool again over that spot.
Chris hear ya dropped some weight mate running after all the local inhabitants.
I don't think he was even on bird-** island, probably on the point near the boat ramp just around from my folk's place in SY.
yup, nearly 20kg, hence the 6m and new smaller Monk. All we need now is 35 knots in Horrocks on Tuesday! Were you guys in Gero on Xmas day? saw a few crew in unfamiliar cars smashing out a session at Seppos?
Nah man was kiting at home.
You guys have it so good. Even in the average wind today was able to catch some superb waves on my nugget and the 13m. Wind is so much more stable, mandurah wind sucks major wang hey. Gusty crap.
Good on ya on the weight loss bro.
Heading to shark bay Tuesday, don't ask why cause I got no fckn idea.
Planning on another mission up your way after the 3rd we must catch up its been a while. Wanna say hello to the new and improved skinny Chris lol.
13m? Geez, haven't had the 8 out for a month or more and I can't remember the last time I dragged out the 9.
Yeah I couldn't stay upwind on the 10 so gave up and rode waves down to stinky point. Eppo going very nicely on his 13 and scored some very nice wave rides.
Never seen him ride waves as smooth as that, great to see!
Ya too kind Dave. I'm looking up at your McMansion right now sweltering with the peasants at the beach. But yeh I'm not much a wave rider always too tempting to blast on a Tt over powered and using them for ramps. Was a relaxing change to be honest. No wind today man.
