The Department of Transport (Vic) is after feedback on changes to the Marine Act 1988. The proposal for windsurfers and kiteboarders is that the Dept. will advise local councils on establishing 'Restricted Areas' for our sports. You can make your own submission or contact KBV who are making a submission on behalf of all Vic kiteboarders. Please get your ideas into KBV well before closing date of 21st Sept'09. I have suggested summer restrictions on popular swimming beaches only but not pushing us into hazardous or dangerous locations on the beach and having unrestricted access for all of winter.
