Fiji Sigatoka gear hire

Has anyone traveled to fiji coral coast recently?
Are there any operators that hire kite gear located near Sigatoka?

not when i was there a couple of years back .I doubt that tis has changed

Sigatoka has hardly anything other than a market and tourist type shops!

was there in sept last year. as what was said above.

i took my own gear, no kite store in fiji. some resorts have windsurf gear, but no kite gear or sup. :(

made me laugh that the windsurf gear is rigged all the time, sitting in the sun, cant be good for it.

I might very well be going to Fiji at Easter. Does anyone know if there is good wind end March / begin April?

If going just to kite you will most likely be disappointing that time of year

Howdy

Safari Lodge offers the only Kite Facility in Fiji. We have Kite Rental, Kite Repairs and Lessons + Boat Support. We are located in the WINDY passage off the Northern Tip of Viti Levu - not on the coral coast.

There is no other facility in Fiji, so if you need help - get in touch happy to hook you up with some accommodation kiting packages to a lovely destination!

I went there in June last year. Travelled right up to Rakiraki which has the best wind. I didn't stay at Safari lodge as I was there to get married not go kiting. Safari Lodge are the best setup for kiting if you can make it up there. Boat support in most areas is kind of essential as coral reefs limit most locations.

Awesome scuba diving up there also. If I can make it back there this year I will be contacting Warren for the kiting.

I traveled down the Coral Coast all the way to Pacific Harbour. There are places there that are possible to kite from land however the wind at the time was very light and there are a lot of shallow water areas with rocks and coral sticking up.
This area is very remote and no there is pretty much no shops for gear, repairs, or parts.

Sigatoka looks like a good spot and has some good surf breaks there also. Didn't get to check it out as the drive from Nadi was sooo long.

Season there doesn't really start until May.

I'm heading to namotu in June on a surf trip, but am going to take my kite - provided I can ride it by then!

Where would people recommend to go for a week after namotu for a kite? is safari lodge the best place?
