There's 2 French kite surfers down at rosebud in Victoria, they work at PKB while Trent is overseas. 1 guy and 1 girl. They both boost higher and for longer than the guys on the video but they don't loop their kites when they do it. Not being a jumper don't know if that's harder or easier but man it's impressive to watch them fly!

Obviously my kiting knowledge only extends far enough to make people put their heads in their hands and shake.

Whoops.

Tell you what though it makes it really inspiring to post again......not.

I'll leave it with ya super duper crazy cool guys. Best I don't stick my nose around these forums anymore.

Parrot poo.

Boosting big and keeping the kite at 12 is like landing in a pool or marsh mealows.

Looping the kite in 30knots, send your body forward like a roller coaster, you no longer have anything supporting you jump.

You need to loop then get that kite back up to 12 other wise, if you f up you break your legs, knees, ribs and end up with 2liters of water up your clacker.

Kiteforum is a lot friendlier!...

Yes indeed its takes balls to pull the trigger and loop while high in the air. Plus if you get it wrong it HURTS. I still prefer watching an insane traditional boost with massive hang. Kite loops tend to be lower with less hang...

Anyway each to their own.

Disregard the meatsacks facepalming. They obviously have conveniently forgotten that they too where once a learner.

Its all about risk V reward young chap!... Does the fun factor outweigh the risk factor? If yes do it. If no don't do it.

Its a concept i never considered until parts of my body started wearing out/breaking.

I got annoyed with being side lined for months by a stupid crash on a risky stunt. I don't want to wait out 2 months + of stuffed ligaments from a botched kiteloop so i don't do them. Also i am in a wave location with big waves, the best place to throw loops is off a wave lip. stuffing it up not only risks getting me injured, there's also a high change of getting worked in the waves and kite torn to bits.......

It all adds up to to much risk for not enough fun.

Plus I get more joy from jumping high, gliding long and landing soft. So that's what I do with the added bonus of riding big waves back to shore.

Hey Parrotdroppings,

Don't let this lot put you off. You gotta have thick skin to survive on Seabreeze kite forum at times.

Pulling the trigger at 40 feet in 35 knots is the scariest thing you can do in kiteboarding, nothing else comes close apart from maybe tethered kiting (strongly advise NOT to do this). You'll pull 3-4 G's in the loop and accelerate downwind to wind speed in under a second. 35 knots is 65 km/h. Considering they are riding crosswind on take off and land at windspeed downwind (watch closely in the video and you'll see their kites working as parachutes (well upwind of the rider) to slow their fall and downwind landing speed.

You'll also notice some of these riders in boots and bindings which means they can't kick the board off in a crashed landing at 60+ km/hr. The water is like concrete and if one leg comes out, they will snap the other leg like a paddle pop stick. You will also notice some of these guys in horizontal axis high above the water, mid roll to absorb some of the centrifugal forces of the loop created by the board, whilst others are taking both hands off the bar and allowing the bar to unspin mid loop. This all takes a very high degree of skill and a massive set of plums. Oh!, and that water is cold

Some day in your riding future, you'll try your first kiteloop. My advice would be to have a spare change of undies in the car, or wear a pair of shorts you're happy to throw away after soiling

Have fun and keep this in mind when posting on SB. "What other people think of me, is none of my business." Also, the people that post here are only the few percent, there are many hundreds of others who read, enjoy your thoughts, and don't post comments. These are the people I write for.

Yeah the few percent are the keyboarding bandits....

You'll read about all sorts of kite and gear greatness..

in Perth there's the same few guys who go really big and loop hard - and guess which car seat the bandits are sittin in ;)

Personally, I rate Airstyle board offs more skillful and fun, than the Megaloops that easy for me..

Each to there own again hey :)

Oldschool this, jump that. I only do mediocre loops when the wind is at 30ish knots at 7-8m high but even than nothing beats a smooth landing of a solid powered kiteloop.

Having the balls to throw em around like below is just not something for 95% of us riders. Awesome to watch though!

Hey Darren, having fun on SB is what it should all be about

Personally, I think your a tosser ;)

99 percent of these clowns that post on here probably haven't even got there first backroll sorted yet

If they had any idea of what it was like pulling off a loop, back in the days of minimal depowered C kites or 2 line kites
they'd probably have a very different perspective

Keep up the smiles

Don't loop in under 25 knots on a 9 and 30 knots on a 7.

That's all I got to say.

How to do a mega kiteloop???? HEHEHEEEE simple instructions 1. Heaps n heaps of speed 2. Boost really really high as high as the clouds 3. When your about 200m up in the air take both hands and pull down really hard n fast on your front hand and don't give up 4. COMMIT COMMIT COMMIT 5. Close your eyes and start praying 6. And if any of these instructions don't work go back and repeat steps 1 2 & 3 over n over again until you either get really badly hurt or you land it riding off into the sunset and all your mates on the beach say WOW and when you come back in the hottest chick on the beach comes up and asks you out on a date that night
