Just a quick comment...

I am impressed by the number of people selling 2005/2006/2007 kites and claiming that the kite has been used only 3 times, or 5 times, or 10 times.

If you're one of them, are you sure you still enjoy kiting? Maybe you should try something else....

I'm sure there are cases where it's true, but come on, not for every 1 sale out of 3...

"For Sale: 2004 BMW M5, 155,000km's on clock but great condition. Elderly female driver. Only driver to church and back. 20" rims, 1500w sound system with 2x 15" JL subs in custom enclosure."

Much the same BS as 'only flown 5 times'.
If it really was from a multi-kite quiver then there is a chance it hasn't been used alot, but really... i mean if i pumped my kite up, does that count as a use? If i had a short session is that half a use? If i'm only a newbie and not fully powering the kite up does that mean it only gets 1/4 of a use?

Just another reason buying kites site unseen is kinda a no-no.

I've only got one kite. So when I am out, I use it everytime. Must be getting up to 70 goes from a bit before now last year.
Never going to sell it, its my baby
It is a shame for the seller though, they lost serveral hundred bucks on something that was only used a handful of times, and probably could have used there other gear as well.

I have an '04 14m BEST Nemesis that's been used less than a dozen times. I don't know how many times my '04 16m Airush Lift has been used, but it would have to be less than 25.

The 14 was an in between size that I really could have done without. But, I got it when they were doing the 3 for 2 deal.

After I got through my learning phase, I didn't use the 16 anymore. These days I don't bother to fly anything bigger than a 12. I don't even have the 16 in the car anymore (the rest of my gear lives in the car permanently)....it's sitting in my spare room here gathering dust.

I'm sure plenty of other ppl have gear in the same boat, so it's not unreasonable for older gear to be like new.

bought a 12m nova2 last year after a light wind session on my 8m kite was too frustrating.

The 12m was awesome, but was only used 3 times before i sold it on. The guy who got it off me scored a bargain, then again it was only sitting in the garage doing sweet FA.

"how often do you use your kites" ....of late, not often enough !!!!

I didn’t advertise my last season kite, it sold to someone looking for this size and model. They got a sweet deal too because was my main/only kite most of last season so I sold it cheap- well cheap by buy and sell standards. Point is, good kites sell no mater how you dress them up as pre loved. Crap kites take a little more... and great kites don’t get sold at all!
