And here a more recent one.
This seriously can't be more than 5-8 knots of wind.

Guy shares stoke. Other guy makes fun of him.

Thanks for sharing Kajo! I like high wind kiting because of the speed/excitement & it's wild, and also get a huge buzz from light wind kiting, where it's calm and there is a different set of skills needed.

It's all good fun.

A foil kite is a kite made from one or more sheets of aluminium foil, or a conventional kite lined with foil, ridden in the belief or hope that it shields the user from threats such as electromagnetic fields, mind control, and mind reading

I actually watched 3 mins of that kid mowing his lawn, just waiting for something to happen.
Kinda hypnotic. I bet as soon as i turned it off all hell broke loose.

Its great at the end when his kite gets wrapped in the wind turbine.

Isn't it amazing that people around the world are enjoying the sport of kitesurfing, without EVER venturing into these forums to see the crap we all dish out.

I member kiting now. That's what I do between 24-28 degrees and 8-12 knots on a foil kite in my yellow wetsuit.

Jeepers you guys are a tough crowd to please :)
The guy is actually a pretty good kiter, if the light wind stuff is too boring for you, he does some good kiteloops in this video.

I love watching the beauty and simplicity of foil kiting, particularly when it looks like there is no wind at all. Magical. Plus the fact that you can use the kite as a para glider is pretty sweet too!

Err can someone correct my stupid brain, but that video does not show loops done on a foil kite - but on a normal LEI kite. Am I missing a screw or two? Also, where is the paraglider action!?

On the note of paraglider or using a kite surfing kite for paragliding check this out!

I would only trust a Flysurfer kite though to do this with. They are paragliders!

What do you think Ozone spend most of their time making? They are arguably the leading paraglider brand in the world.

Just to complete the thread hijack:

- Ozone is possibly the most successful paraglider manufacturer and their competition wings dominate.

- F-One kites are designed and built by Gin Gliders. They're Ozone's only real rival on the competition scene and winner of this year's world cup. They're a much bigger company than Ozone and make wings for a lot of other companies.

- Advance design and build the North Ace. Advance have been around for years and have a reputation for superior quality. They're like the BMW of the paraglider world.

Disagree. That was done, not now. They are struggling as it is with LEI kites let alone paras. I think the Russians or the Germans have an advantage now over that market.

This has been on before, a few years ago too, but does show the convergence of paragliding and kitesurfing!

Pretty unco at the beginning, but 2mins in it gets interesting when he lands in the water and changes into kitesurf mode. Great stuff!

A bunch of years ago this german kid came out to our spot and was throwing some pretty sick loops on a flysurfer.. but every time he would loop it either the wingtips or whole kite would buckle in half and he would drop like a rock until it opened back up and just barely caught him. Sketchy AFIf you're going to be chucking loops get a C- shape
