Not a kite surfer but I enjoy heading down to the Pond to take photos - here are some of my images from since Christmas.

Sorry I don't know names or anything else.

Great job!!

Which camera and lenses are you using? Do you think a Nikon D3300 with 18-200 will do "similar"?

Planing to buy a new camera but I am completely lost.

Nice shots Karl.
Maybe a bit of work on composition so you are not chopping off boards.
Also not quite tac sharp (ss too low?). Or maybe its the crappy compression on upload.

Spend wisely. And invest in your lenses!
Having said that, you could have the best gear in the biz, but if you are shooting full auto green mode you won't get the shots you want.

Thanks - I have a Canon 7d with the Sigma 70 - 200mm F2.8 which is a fast camera / lens combo. You need a fast lens (big aperture of F2.8) so you can separate the subject from the background so I am not sure with your lens. But if that is all you have go for it and do your best.

Thanks for that - this is a new lens and I am just getting used to it mated with the 7D and I am trying different settings etc to find the right combo.

Will work on composition but in the two images above:

First one - I was about 2m away and I was at 70mm already and couldn't go any wider

Second one I was about 5m away and only just caught the action so not a lot of time to compose.

Thanks for taking the time and commenting.

Karl
