You guys
Just put in an updated model of the KLP
(Kite launch post)
Winds been that strong I've had to put 2 mixes of concrete and increased depth of 800mm
So if your in Dongara use it,
Or give me a shout at the cafe and I'll give you a launch
It's located just in front of the surf life saving club next to cafe and grass rigging zone, there's a tap and showers to clean yourself and gear up
Have a safe kiting Christmas
Hugs n kisses cauncy

Thursday, me and Matt988 went down south and kited the afternoon with cauncy and eppo at seven mile and south beach. Great fun!
I f*****d up a self launch on south beach with a steering line getting wrapped around a massive seaweed ball and got a good old chinny chin chin touch up from an angry kite haha.

Will use the new post if the beach is covered in seaweed footies next time. Cheers cauncy.

Here are a few photos from the south beach sesh. The biggies are Matt, but cauncy was getting some nice ones on eppos rebel 10, and some nice wave slashes too.

Matt was going huge on his Vegas and boots. I went home and iced up several joints, woke the next morning felt like a train had hit me. Matt probably went home, had a beer, went to bed, got up the next morning ready for another session!!

Ps Dave I did offer to launch ya .. looked up and saw you eat major sh1t. I'm a bad man so I laughed really hard. Then tethered mine and forgot to tie one of the outside lines. Karmas a b1tch.

Haha yeah i got home 8.30 sleep by 9 and woke up at 6 still dozy. Something about new experiences that invigorate, but also tire you in a fantastic way.

Bugger I didnt get any photos of you as pissed off to that lighthouse lagoon spot.

Starfish South beach cafe at white tops road dead on the beach,
Just put the post through its paces
Great to see a few crew using it today and keeping safe in 30 knts

If it went wrong today you'd get a good spanking
All up cost me $60/70 and an hours labour
Eppo just watched and was working out a mathematical / engineering equation to concrete / wind strength non labour as teachers do
Job done and my money well spent if we have no injuries at our local

I good man would have cleaned up the beach to so users didn't need to bother about getting their lines snagged on seaweed and vegetation.
Typical Cauncy. Allways doing a job half arsed!

I have to ask. Why the post?
why not just diga trench and bury a log with a chain on it?
no concrete needed.
Put a thin mast with a windsock on it to locate.

Its more pleasing to hook and unhook from a teather and a comfortable height.

If you look at the photo of the core kite
You can see the bars above the ground
Important to have this as you can get a visual on your lines( no tangles snag lines)
It's basically how it'd be for an assisted launch
Concrete and depth adds resistance
A core xr pulled the first one clean out of the hole with 6 bags of 20 kg rapid set when it decided to fly off in strong winds
Hence extra depth and more ballast
And as mentioned a good height to clip into your harness
IMHO if you have a local kite spot you should have one

That's Eppo with my undies
I'm busy swilling a German drop
He was on a corona
They usually put a slice of lime in them
But everything's hardcore up here
