I saw this on the news - apperently it happened at Duranbah
and the sup guy was watching the surf comp - quicksilver pro and the so was the jetski rider- I think they said the jetski was part of of comp organisers
can anyone confirm
Not funny just a very badly staged stunt using a doll filmed poorly.
Sorry if it was you who filmed it or lent them your blow up girl friend as the stunt double.
Here's what a guy falling off a roof looks like
Put some benny hill music and funny splat sound effects behind it and u have a funniest home video grand finalist!
Kad,,that trampoline stunt thing you posted is be it real or not totally out of order and should not be shown on these sites for any arguements,
The Jetskier was part of a local surf comp as a safety marshall he was knocked off by a wave and the ski took off....Not good either way...and why jetskis should and by law keep there distance
There is no excuse for not wearing the killswitch leash.......
Next thing the SUP guy will sue the jetskier and or the event organisers and IMO so he should ......a leg break like that looks like can have life long repercussions
2 things are very apparent from reading this thread:
1. Most people are completely de-sensitized to the obvious pain and injury that occurs to others and in fact find it hilarious!?
2. Some SB folks have an IQ in single digits, as has been confirmed by the constant referances to Oz's most stoopid home sheeteos, as though the actions and moronic scenes shown and guffawed at in that hour of (Oz content???) TV, in some way justifies the above toolery confirmed by point #1.
To those that laff it hearty at the sight of a knee/leg askew, try rubbing your belly (no not your nurries!) and scratching your head (no not your nurries either!) at the same time.. that should keep you amused for the same hour devoted to Oz's most stoopid home sheeteos.
Ouch. I bet that really f**ken hurt, and agree the jetski driver should be sued, but man I have to say that it makes an excellent picture! The idea of it is funny too sorry folks, I dont hate SUP's or anything, just seeing people get smashed kind of intrigues me.
If the SUP guy is reading this forum, heres a little something to cheer you up:
It's serious people that ruin the world. Lighten up and have a laugh. It's because of people that can't laugh at a mistake that we've got one of the highest suing rates in the world. Now people aren't allowed to wear thongs into pubs, ride a bike while drunk or say "wog, asian or skippy" without being hung out to dry because you are not being "politically correct" (and I'm sure I'll get pulled up for saying those words even though all my wog mates don't take offence to it)
What ever happened to the laidback Aussie lifestyle where we just cruised along and if someone broke their leg by getting hit by a rogue jetski you'd say to them "she'll be right mate" and buy them a case and have a beer with them till they got better. Seems like the SUP rider was ok with it, just need to re-educate the other **** on how to be more Australian.
With the accident in question you are completely correct. The jet skier is probably really sorry it happened and the SUP probably accepts the apology.
However, you still get dumb ****s on jet skis riding around SUPs trying to knock them off with their wake and blasting around the beach and swimmers, you still get dumb ****s who think their car is an extension of their tiny penis (read hotted up car, daddy's car, or wanker in a ute, etc), and binge drinking morons at pubs, and all the tools who were "...only having a little fun...".
If people are too stupid to do the right thing then do we just accept it? Do we try to make laws that knock it into their stupid heads? Do we get our cousins and a bunch of shotguns and go and kneecap the bastard? Which part of being an Australian do you want?
There is no excuse for not wearing the killswitch leash.......
Next thing the SUP guy will sue the jetskier and or the event organisers and IMO so he should ......a leg break like that looks like can have life long repercussions
Couldn't disagree more!!!!!
The entire country if getting $%^^% because of idiots suing at first opportunity.
This is the main reason why we have all lost the freedom to do the things we want to do.That is why there is bull**** signs forbiding everything at any public place (no dog, no swimming,no feeding the birds,no walking, no breathing....).
If only you knew the amasing amount of wicked activities that would be available if it wasn't for the stupidly high insurance premium due to Dick $%^& suing to get some cash(ask your local kite school).
Suing should be available as a mean to punish a guilty party but the victim should never benefit from the outcome. Instead they should be forced to donate the profits to the charitable organisation of their choice.
Charities would have more cash to trully help people who need it and it would put an end to idiotic money making schemes (poor lawyers would miss out).
PS: I was accidently axphiciated to unconsciousness on the operation table then brought back at my last operation due to human error and i certainly did not sue them (escuse the horible spelling).
In this case, I think the victim could be justified in suing. How many months do you think the person in question would be off their feet due to the operations. What about the costs of the op's? I'm willing to bet it isn't cheap. How about hiring someone to drive them around because the cost of bumpy public transport would probably be painful as hell? How about the actual pain? How about the pain of watching your mates kite while you're stuck on shore for a year not being able to kite? As someone else mentioned, how about lost income?
Yes, there are many cases where suing is wrong. When someone sues macdonalds because they are fat, thats wrong! Sure the jetskiier may be sorry, but in this case the guy was irresponsible and his irresponsibility could have cost someone their life and did cost someone their health? Would you be happy with the guy suing only if he was paralysed? There is no excuse for not wearing the kill switch, its plain and simple negligence, and if a doctor or anyone else can get sued for negligence that costs people money or health, then this guy can.
It is true that the current trends is towards an overly litigious society. Still, if someone ignores blatant safety issues and wipes out another sensible person, (the victim not the perp - regardless of suing or not) to the point that the person wiped out has a hospital stay, loss of work/income or changes to their way of life, then the nong deserves everything he/she/the tool gets!
As for a sesne of humour who wants to grab a vid, line up and get filmed as i kick em right in the jatz crackers!! 8 out of 10 people think that is comedy gold...
What no volunteers?? What a humourless lot.
we use our waverunner to whip in north of perth and as a safety when kiting in offshores. worse case-gear malfunction-detach swim in and grab ski--please note there is NOBODY AROUND and its nowhere near metro area so forget about tangling swimmers etc. and with friends
Anyway unless its only our ski,, if you have leash on(killswitch) and your flying along and take hand off throttle it still moves forward but at idle speed and then it starts doing donuts.
Got me buggered how this accident happened
even with killswitch engaged it cant rev out and drive straight---maybe it is just our ski--08yamaha waverunner
Oh yeah and i couldnt agree more that most ski riders are irresponsible , dangerous and inconsiderate wankers with no F**king idea.
