oh so good. I have watched this over and over mesmerised by his skills. I wish they would show more of his kite in action, I want to see how it catches him as his landings are "oh so smooth".

I think he is flying a RAM air kite hence the soft landings.
was asking myself the same very question...
Wonder what knots he foiling in....also the prick is on what looks like to be a pretty medium to high aspect wing (for free riding)...how good is he!!!
I hate him,
So smooth!! Pretty sure I would cop a foil in the knackers if I tried anything remotely like that..... very impressive.
Wow... just how do you get so much pop with a foil ?!
You have a 3 foot take off ramp bolted to the bottom of your board. At any moment you can hit your own personal kicker!....
Oh he's on a big arse motherfarken foil riding powered to all hell.
But full credit. Wish i could punt jumps line that.
Yep that was worth re posting.
You can say that again

You can see the kite in this a lot more and a 720 spin?

I don't do much jumping ... but the difference is that a foil won't lose edge while loading up. . It's just how hard you go.
Whilst i am nowhere near the jumping stage in my foiling I can really see the potential.
The speed and power generated through apparent wind plus the upwind angle could be turned into some really good boosts.
I think, as well as many others have said, that in lower winds 20knots and under a foil will out jump a twin tip

If you can boost on a twin tip and ride a straight line on a foil for 50m you are good enough to start jumping. You aren't going to be going massive (as like most learners you will be on a smaller kite) but its still fun. The landings are super soft too.
Empty your mind of the idea of needing to avoid the board touching down in the landings and you'll see how easy it is. I suspect if you are using your regular LEI kites then you'll be landing just fine. Landings are easier to stick than on a strapped surfboard.
man I've got sooooo far to go
It'll keep you interested for another couple of years

That is interesting to hear you say that. I have read elsewhere that it's not as crazy as one would think, still probably won't give it a go for a while though!

what kite are you using to foil with? I have been foiling with Reo's but in big air I don't always get the landing right and they are not always soft landings. I want to start jumping with a foil as well, but I feel a tad nervous dropping like a stone if I stuff up the redirect.
Yes the dropping like a stone had been something I considered. I reckon the foil would get you up there but then the lighter winds may just drop you like a rock
( Doesn't this belong in the foiling section)
And then theres Fred Hope
Watch and enjoy.
