Which kite do you suggest me for race? I know ozone edge 13m e xbow are good...and the genetrix hydra 4 12m?
Hey vel,
Wait for the new Ozone Edge, it's going to be sick! It has been designed with power and racing in mind.
Very excited about this new Edge. Can't wait!

We have Course racing in brisbane. One series started a couple of weeks ago and another on next month. Will be keen to try my Rally in one.
hi there,
I do not have a lot of experience in Race, but if you want to perform in kite-racing you need the good kite but also the good board with the good fins, and the good physical condition, and good regatta strategy.
The Ozone Edge seems good, and is definitely a great upwind kite, although I found it very physical in stronger wind: heavy in the arms, not sure how many hours I could race on such a kite...
Also, the Takoon Chrono seems very good upwind and downwind, french rider Julien Kerneur is one of the few riders who manages to often beat Bruno Sroka (Cabrinha rider on the top of PKRA racing)
I would think that you would need a kite that has good upwind performance but also a kite with good depower, and good steering speed.
The race is also on the equipment in Europe. At the moment, the tendency on boards seems to go for very wide boards >60cm, and huge fins (see picture): as long as your legs can handle it ;0) over 30cm in the front. US boxes will hold bigger fins (lots of custom race boards use this now) while it is risky to put big fins in mini thuttle boxes.
For very lightwind (6knots), the foil boards (see pix) are starting to dominate, they are so efficient upwind!!! but you need very good riding skills downwind if you do not want to be over-taken by a race-board.
I sincerely hope racing is gonna become bigger & bigger in OZ! and remember to get ready for the Nationals during Anzac week end in April 2011 in Alva beach ;0)
cheers,
Next they will have a dagger board, or a lead keel. Still a lot of development in racing boards and kites to come as it becomes more and more popular. After racing yachts for a lot of years i have a lot of interest to see where racing leads. Sounds like a lot of fun and very competitive.
I think djdojo is right on the money KIT33R if you need any more clarification on the pot black comment you hypocrite. At least BrisKites bias is declared by the user name.
Doesn't Bris kites sell the fastest kite in the world? 54kts
They seem to do well in endurance and speed but wonder what they are like at corse racing? or is the bandit just fast off the wind

I hear that surfconnects series was a circus.
Glad to see KP&BK have the show on the road properly for racing in QLD.
+1 Although the wind was **** all week end. Josh Porter ate them alive. Hoping for good wind for all the up and coming races.
This is off the north website,
11th & 12th September was the 4th stop on the UK Course racing tour, Poole on the South Coast in the England delivered sunny skies, wind and an 8 race series. The Event was dominated by NKB with 11 out 14 riders using Rebel 2011 and 2010, Steph Bridge 3 X world Champion had a great event winning 6 of the races using the 2011 Race LTD and Rebel 2011, Callum Edge from NKB in the UK took the remaining 2 1st places and a lot of seconds to finish 2nd overall again with the New Race LTD and Rebel 2011 with Lee ‘Pasty’ Harvey claimed the remaining podium place again powered by the Rebel 2011.
Looks like NKB have a fair bit of focus on racing.
