Finally took a drive out to King of The West about 27km north of Kalgoorlie. Wish I had gone out there sooner the lake is 2km long by 1km wide and at the moment just neck deep in the middle.

Never expected to find a body of water like this on the edge of the desert. Wind was 14 knots SE rising to 25 in the afternoon. Started out on 15 Flysurfer then down to 12m Rebel.

Location... (Call the station owner on the way out, number is on the gate)

love your work. Lived in Kal a few years back. It was before I started kiting. Gives me hope if I ever end up back there. I see the gold smelter in the background and remember seeing the lake on the way to Black Swan.

Is the water hypersaline? I often wondered about those salt lakes when working near there.

Back in the 80's Brad Hiles was a world champion Windsurfer from Kalgoorlie so the quality of the water and wind has always been good

This should be the right spot.
