Hey guys,
My wife and i are looking at going on a kitesurfing holiday sometime this year. We have a tight budget but recieve $3000 to put towards flights between us curtosy of work.
Can anyone recommend anywhere keeping in mind when we get there our spendings will be minimal.
We will be traveling from Broome WA.
Cheers,
Clarey
Maybe I just hate crowds but any place recognised as a top kite surfing destination will have lots of people. Find yourself a nice quiet resort with a beach out front where the trade winds blow. Best of both worlds.
I would check out the bit at the NW tip of Bali (gilimanuk) where it's meant to be quite good. From there you could also head across to G-land and see some killer wild jungle and the best left hander ever.
ditto for what bjw posted, I'm from SA and I go to WA for a kite trip. Lancelin was great in November.
And ditto for wishy the NW tip of Bali is on the bucket list.
Am going to south Lombok in June with a mate.
Also something to consider is I know my wife would hate the remote spots in Indo where I go with mates.
I've kited in Fiji (Malolo, Namotu etc) which was great, and the season usually kicks off around April /May. Lots of accom options to suit different budgets. From Broome can you fly to Bris Direct ? The Novotel at the Bris airport is a good way to break the trip up if kids are involved.
Heaps of Indo options, what about Qld - always seems to get windy there over our winter ?
Lord Howe looks amazing but I think $$$
HiAgree www.splocs.com is very good. Look at egypt Soma bay.MVH

You should check out Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Zephyr Kite Tours will hook you up, or arrange it yourself.
If you want somewhere remote, no crowds and tropical www.kitesurftonga.com - windy season is april through to november.
To be boring, it's hard to beat Perth in summer. Not that we want extra kiters here, but you've asked the question and deserve the answer. I kite Fiji and Indonesia, and it's hard to beat Perth in summer. And your budget will go a long way. Either way, just keep having fun.

If you have ever wanted to go to Hawaii... I live on the North shore of Kauai, I think it's a really under rated kite surfing destination. There is a shallow reef in many places and the wind is not nearly as strong as Maui both of which make windsurfing marginal but I think perfect for kite surfing. Hanalei bay, Anini beach, Haena, you will never find crowds. Lots of other things to do as well.
Just knocked out a few days at soma bay, great spot, recommend it. Having to pay for beach access sucks though.
