Most my surfing mates give me hell mainly about all the crap we talk about on this forum.

They reckon we're a warped bunch of idiots..... yep!

3 hours board riding time kiting vs 2 mins board riding surfing (10 waves per session at about 10 secs each).

That's precisely what I'm talking about.

Most of us aren't doggie.

Add on... surfing is harder to become at least competant than kiting.

Very true, I havnt had a crack at kites yet but Im told its easy to pick up. I used to do alot of water skiing/wakeboarding when I was younger. I recon I could use a twin tip once I got used to the kite.

I will give it a go one day

It's all in the kite doggie.

I'm no Slater, but I've survived double overhead G-Land shacks. Sure, a massive buzz, but lot's of waiting, paddling and just when the one you've waited your turn for comes through, Pablo from Brazil decides to come along for the ride.

Classic.

Funniest 'surf' shirt I ever saw, my brother bought from K-Mart about 25 years ago. On the front "Chicks dig me" with a cheeky smiling face.
On the back, same face, bit smugger. "Cause I Surf"

We were laughing about it years later and he told me that he bought it as a 'present' for me, but once he started wearing it couldn't bring himself to part with it.

I'm so confused,

Monday surfed a point for 1.5hrs, was a bit fat so i pumped up and kited it for 2hrs, smooth like butter. Kiting won

Today 6ft glassy round barrels in the morn, after lunch 23kts beachies wind drops quick. Surf wins

I'll keep doing this for x years till i can decide

Jedibrad. I'm jelous, where did you get 6 foot round barrels yesterday, your profile says NSW. Sydney was s*it house (3ft close outs).

But then 17 knots SE in the arvo made up for it. Kiting won yesterday :-)

3 hours board riding time kiting, not one roundhouse or hardly a decent smooth turn.

2mins board riding surfing, a few decent roundhouses/ turns and a feeling of peace.

Thats precisely what I'm talking about.

I live near a south swell magnet, reefs tend not to close out they barrel instead
