G'day. Off on a surf trip to Rote. I was last there in 94' (before I kited) and recall it being pretty windy.
I've been to Lakey kiting quite a few times and it was the perfect kite and surf trip-hoping Rote may have some options to kite too
Is it worth taking kites? Only interested in waves, no flat water.
Feel free to PM.
Thanks.

www.windguru.cz

For my 5 seconds of research
I couldnt find any windroses but looks like consistent easterlys at the moment which wont be much use on the western side of the island seems good on the east.

A lack of windroses generally means no airport?!? If there is an airport thag your aware of just search for it and dig into the data something like "blah blah airport wind data" or " blah bllah airport windrose for july" should give you a hit

hey loco4olas,

here in Darwin we're getting plenty of easterlies and I believe Rote gets a similar pattern only later than we do by a couple days,,, anyway, maybe BOM's marine and oceans prediction thingy shows enough for you to figure it out I reckon. For us, its pretty good and accurate enough to mostly rely on but it might not be local enough for places you intend to go. Our airport shows one thing but what happens on the water is another,,, its always better on the water. Anyway,,, just an idea man!!!!

I reckon, if in doubt,, take your kites,,, better to have and not need then not have and need.
