Hi Guys,

In recent times I've heard heaps of horror knee stories to do with kiting. So my question being, is it that common and would it be worth wearing a double knee brace as a precaution. (I used to when I rode MX)

Cheers,
Gaz

Are you doing knee smashing monster high speed wake style?

If yes then yes? if no then no?

The bigger question is do you need to continue this knee smashing style? or would another style that doesn't smash your knees be an option?

Hey Gaz,
I say yes, if you've have knee problems in the past. I didn't wear mine and at this very moment I'm sitting at the orthopedic surgery. Taking precautions never hurts mate. Beats standing on the beach rather than being out on the water.
Cheers

Do they fit the shinn boards puppet? Are they better than the shinn pads, and do you sell them mate?

Yep & Yep & Yep
But no stock available till late July :-(
with 4 x contours of strap tightening as well as adjustable distance along your foot - along with 1/2doz. other features i reckon they are better than ANY pads.

It's a bit dodgy suggesting that a certain set of pads and straps are going to fix knee problems when you don't know what the knee problems are.

My two cents, I am a big believer in the use it or lose principle, so more kiting is better than no kiting.

The beauty of kiting is that there is so much variety in what you do and how you can do it that you can adapt to whatever physical problem you have. You just need to adjust your technique and style. The actual adjustment comes down to you. Go with your instincts and how your body feels.

PS I used to have chronic low back pain and dodgy knees. The back pain is completely gone and the knees only twinge very rarely. I attribute the improvement in my back to using a waist harness and all the bending, flexing and twisting from riding toe side a lot. The knee twinges come when I catch and edge landing a jump awkwardly. I avoid being awkward if I can.

knees, shouders ankles - yeah pretty much f23@!#ed. I am eating a bucket on krill a day to see if it can regrow my cartilage 1 micron thicker hopefully in all these areas

pkra looks a bit like bionic people sometimes- especially the double knee brace look!

i guess the answer is to land right, having said that i do love watching riders landing reeeaaly hard and fast and making it - that's the best! For sure gonna be a generations of limping elderly tho into these kinds of sports .

electric surfboard for me... been ridden past 3-4 times in last few weeks by 70 year olds smoking me on their walden longboards....
