What happened to the seabreezes?? Isnt it supposed to be pumping right now???
Come on La Nina do one already! She's got her grip for another 2 months apparently, then we're in for a 'wet' winter. May mean more fronts to look forward to then! Yeaw!
... I've been to 2 other usually famously windy places and both have been off, one was WA Perth and the other was Vietnam MuiNe, this La Nina is causing sh!t with the wind every where I think! C'mon Nina, give us a break!
Dont upset Nina she packs a powerful punch. This morning is cranking over 20 knot easterlies. Wind is wind.
Last La Nina was epic in southern WA (2008), with many seabreezes over 30knots, the seabreezes were consistant as well.
La Nina usually effects northern and eastern Australia while the southern half of WA is generally spared from the tropical flow.
This year in southern WA is a different story. But if you look at what has been happening over Australia this summer with 1 in 50, 1 in 100 year weather events you will realise this La Nina is a nasty beast (one of the strongest La-Nina's on record) and we could not escape her dominance this year.
Winter will be interesting...
yeah... perfectly normal for the build up (thats the bit before the wet season...when we all go to vietnam...)
but absolutely wrong for this time of year. we have had 1 day over 20 knots this wet. usually by now we'd be well into 2 or 3 weeks of solid monsoonal wind. had plenty of monsoon, just no wind! we're gonna need councilling soon...
Float that's pretty techie; IOD (Indian Ocean Dipole)
When you rely on Mother Nature for your enjoyment you are at her mercy
Hopefully the year ahead sees Australia returning to normal weather patterns.
Apart from a lack of good clean consistent seabreezes in Perth metro we really have nothing to complain about especially compared to the Eastern seaboard.
But damn this La Nina weather pattern!!!
