If you're looking for a cheap flight to paradise Mauritius is on sale with Air Asia X. Just booked return flights next June with sports luggage for $630 return. (From Melb, other Aus departure points available.)

Yeah, that's pretty cheap. Although I suppose you get what you pay for?

We're also looking at flying to Mauritius next year. I'll see you in the lineup!

Very expensive and only good for experienced wave riders. very dangerous with riders that have no wave back ground

Dead right !
Compare the total seat numbers/configuration below.
Same aircraft, different Airline.
If you are a bigger than average person you will pay dearly for those cheap seats.
Cheers

I did the snowboarding trip to Japan in Jan. Tough choice but you can't go wrong!

Is that through experience is it?
I always travel AirAsia and have never had any problem going through KL.
You get what you pay for is true - but a little discomfort, so you can afford to
stay somewhere for up to an extra month on air fare savings alone is nothing to scoff at.
Every one to their own - but sometimes I would not be able to go if I had to pay
what some airlines normally want to charge.
Last time I had a whole row of seats to myself and slept all the way to Indo.

I see you are in Mauritius now - May I ask who you flew with and how much was the airfare?
