Heading down early Sunday looking for a sneaky session somewhere on the way and get to merrimbula in time for the bbq have a 7d2 on board 5d is dead unfortunately
I hav'nt followed the Merimbula classic. My grandma owned a house you could see The Bar from her kitchen till she passed away acouple of years ago. Lovely area. Has this comp been held in good (swell) Bar Conditions. Its a fickle wave from memory.

Has been decent a few times in all the years I've been there. As it goes though it's usually firing the day before or the day after... but that's not really what it's all about anyway .
Roger doger. I imagine its a fun bonanza when there swell running and a northerly.
Yep, downwinders from main beach to Pambula are very popular as is heading up the coast a bit to some other spots. Short Pt and the lake always get a bit of action too. In Southerlys its on at the river mouth and main beach.
I caught the bar going off with head high swell and cranking southerly. It was amazing! Great spot. Hope to get it on again one day. One of the better spots on the south coast.
found this on ABC - would loved to have gone this year. maybe next
