Hi,

I like snowboarding and am now getting into kiteboarding.

I have yet to buy a board for either sport and I'm a bit of a minimalist... so I was wondering, can you buy a board that will work for both sports?

Having never owned a board before I envisioned a board where you could swap between the snowboarding and kiteboarding bindings.

Is this possible?

How different are the boards?

Kind regards,
Michael

No.... If there was the board would be **** both on the snow and in the water.

Look at the shape of a snowboard and a twin tip, they're two completely different boards designed for different things.

Sure, there it is :)

But seriously, no, kiteboards and snowboard have a totally different shape, profile and construction.

if your skilled enough you can ride anything under a kite, theres always a compromise, so ye go for it with your snowboard and c how it goes, theres no rules and have fun

You might find this interesting, the guys at Signal Snowboards made this hybrid surfboard-snowboard back in 2012. Kinda works on the snow but only for riding powder really, but that board could be kited on for sure!
