DI doesn't really work once there's any E in the wind. 20 Knots + of N, NNW or NW is the best. They really only happen on rare days in spring. September to November?

The weather station is situated on top of the headland so the readings at sea level are often a lot lower than at a couple of hundred metres.

Many times we've journeyed up the beach only to surf instead because we were fooled by the BoM readings.
