Just found this photo (Kitefoil world cup Mexico) of a bar pretty much identical to mine that i made a few weeks back. Very light and clean and is so simple. It is a great bar but the bar itself breaks around every 10 sessions which does get annoying. Mine is just a broomstick that has been glassed, with brand new (300kg breaking strain) lines on it. Fabulous for unhooked handle passes as it is so light and easy to pass behind your back. Let me know what you think.
Update for all!
My new and improved bar is looking better than ever. I took it out this morning for a run and what an achievement. This bar is truly one of the best bars i have ever ridden. Such a light feel when your holding the bar but yet very strong.
Specs:
Length: 48cm (perfect for my 9m rebel)
Weight: 334grams including lines on the bar.
Material: 100% carbon cloth
Grip: Tennis tape (bought from local fitness shop)
Strength: Capable of up to 40knot gusts. (I'm 83kg)
BTW the below picture is not my bar however mine is very similar. I have not put a swivel on my bar as it keeps it nice and light. I observed that when I was drilling the holes through the bar for the main de-power line/ turning lines that it lost about 40% of its initial strength however being carbon it is still incredibly strong and durable.
Im yet to make a 54cm bar for my 12m and 15m.
