One day - soon - Ill pull the pin!!

Ive so thought about fishpoling the bar at the top of big jumps - but - big sigh - I keep seeing doctors and the emergency room in my mind! LOL

Actually - TerryMcT the vid you posted above makes it look like a walk in the park, and even when the kite nearly scrapes the water !!

This is so awesome, I wonder why they even have comps that aren't megalooping.

There was an interview afterwards, I don't recall it as gear fail or line break but it was some time ago, I think it was a mistake with the kiter or the kite or a weird gust.

What sort of injuries do you think you can reasonably sustain?

I'm thinking burst ear drums, dislocated limbs, whiplash... Thinking of pulling the trigger soon...

Fishpoling the bar will lead to a very small, gentle loop that is a non-event. Try fishpoling instead of powerstroking to waterstart and you will see its not that much power. Now whats on that vid is something else entirely - a low loop that looks to be below the rider. Dont try that for a couple of years.

Induced coma. That's what happened to one of the competitors in the comp.

My only beef is that its an 8m kite on 15m lines. I will never be able to ride down that low and going that short starts to get gimmicky. Maybe if he used an Impact instead of a GTS4 he could use reg lines? Most of the riders in ZA will do a true megaloop on full length lines, the wind is strong enough and dense enough to give you the time you need to complete. Not sure why they shot it during off season there.

If you're after some real big ones in a video, this is still my favourite;

Aaron Hadlow launching off glass in 30 knots is just sick.

Very cool.
But I really thought the 11m Crossbow was about to try a megaloop as well. Left me a bit disappointed haha
