Recent posts on SB alerted Pelican Point regulars that the City of Subiaco has plans to install a number of statues in/near/adjacent to the launch/landing area at Peli Pt/JH Abrahams Park.

WAKSA has alerted the relevant authorities at City of Subiaco about the potential safety impacts (and potential damage to kites) that these statues may present. Council officers have indicated that they are prepared to meet with WAKSA & kiters to discuss those concerns.

Before meeting with the council and in order to get a better understanding of the concerns specific to Pelican Point, WAKSA would like to meet with regular/local kiters to get clear advice/instructions about what would work & what won’t work.

Meet in the car park @ Pelican Point about 3.30pm to discuss. Hope to see many Peli Pt regulars there. Any queries, please email waksa@waksa.org.au

Bump.

Have received some aerial photos/diagrams highlighting the positions for the City of Subiaco proposal. Will make things much easier to discuss & work out what is in the best interests of Peli Point kiters.

3.30pm in the car park.

WAKSA.

Dear governing body of kiting in West Australia,

Perhaps you'll get a few people to turn up at "3.30pm" if you tell them what day....

Do you really need a meeting or have you not been there at all ????

Its small & pokey maybe 40m long with kite eating trees left n right + an information sign recently stuck in the middle of the kite lay down area which is next to a dog walking sign...................................

Its a 3 seconds no brainer to figure out - one at east & west corners !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your looking for support & a show of hands for the council to see - then just say that - its all good.

Pelican Point regulars will be relieved to hear that the City of Subiaco has acknowledged the potential safety problems that the statue in question created.

Subiaco has advised WAKSA that the final plans will be amended & that this statue is not included in the final proposal.

Thanks to all concerned (especially Allan O'Grady) for raising the issue with us.
