Hi Peeps,
I came across an article in Kiteboarder mag some years ago, I think 2005 or 2006 and thought I'd lead you on a trip down memory lane and apparently also into the future
Hey KBM, wouldn't have this weeks Lotto numbers would you????
Good onya Keahi,
DM
Well they had to get it right with one of "the future" articles didn't they? I'm pretty sure just about every grom at that time was "the future" at some point haha.
lucky he is still kiting after he almost got pulled into a rock wall
Keahi is still "the future" no doubt!
That has got to help him, but on the other hand being Australian is a big disadvantage. All companies want really is rich euro kids who can pretty much pay their own way around the world, buying expensive camera gear and doing some claiming in videos every now and again while simultaneously doing the testing for the gear and all the company needs to do is chuck them a few bucks here and there to keep the parents happy.
To be honest Keahi should be on the come up anyway, the kid has skills, he's way better than pretty much all the "pros" out there at pretty much every style of kiting! (just like a few other people I can think of in the past). The difference is he has actually got the right connections and motivation to do something with it! Lets hope he can get enough support to make it happen.
p.s. I can't say I'm not envious of his situation at all, it's pretty awesome really. Luckily it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
whoever has seen keahi ride and regardless if in waves, freestyle, wakestyle, kiteloops or if he decides to jump of sand dunes.. THAT DUDE RIPS!
We got a Keahi vid/ Chase Burns edit coming very soon so stay tuned for some frothing over few riding moments of one of the world's most complete and best kiteboaders.
WORD!
Thanks for all the kind words guys. Good seeing that article again. Kinda forgot about it ha.
Thanks for all the support and hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more of me in the future.
Cheers,
Keahi
