Travelling to Thailand with the missus. We're both pretty much beginner kiters. I've been googling for kiting opportunities whilst we are there but not really able to sort the good from the bad.

Can anyone recommend a good spot for beginners with a kite school?

We only have a few days so can't be too much travel hassle from BKK. Also we would prefer clean water/quiet area to pollution and full moon parties (boring hey?)

Cheers, GB

Was in Hua Hin Thailand in April. Was lucky and had wind 6 out of 8 days. At 80kg i used the 13m more than the 10m.

You have Chan am to the north where there are less kites. Pranburi is just south.

I will go back again next year not for the kiting but for a family holiday with some kiting.
My wife and kids love the place.

Couldn't recommend the guys at kite zone in pranburi more. I learnt with them and had a great time, they have accommodation on site and Willy and his crew were fantastic.

Pranburi is very quiet though and not a lot going on at night which we loved. Hua Hin is just up the road if partying is what your after.

Tu wa lang beach, really nice ecoresort.. very little tourism, a nice bay to practise (very safe) and some nice waves as well. Been twice didn't get to much wind unfortunately. Hua HIn is better for wind they say...
