Keahi and I have been jumping around Indonesia for the last two months while keeping Bali as home base. It's not the windiest place in the world, but that still didn't stop us from having a few fun sessions!!
Keep and eye out every few weeks for another episode! We absolutely scored on a few different islands!
Yeah good vid. Sticky feet, light winds, slack lines, I don't know how you guys make it look that easy.
Some nice fluid riding, but the standouts for me is Reo's recovery around 2.10 mark and those 360 spins strapless are pretty hard to do. I could watch these vid's all day, good stuff.
Neat vid, thanks for umm sharing...
superlative riding...only wish I could see more of what the kite was doing and where they are putting it, the whole power on power off thing. As a longtime surfer its easy to know what to do on the wave with a board, but as a newish kitesurfer I would like to understand more of where and when to position the kite.
Inspiring stuff.
Dafish, i would probably be very boring looking at their kites (although the kites themselves are pretty). Because all their kites do is just sit there and 'drift'.
In this video they hardly stear. If they stear it is only to reposition the kites direction of force. You would like to keep the angle between the wave and the direction of your lines as small as possible. You can achieve or ruin a good angle by edge control.
Obviously some kites drift better than others. But the rider still has the most influence on that part. Its technique.
For instance, unhooking the kite not only allows your body to move more freely, but it also makes a kite drift better.
Also the better the waves the easier it is. The ****tier the waves, the more important technique is. Good skill combined with a good kite and youre on the money.
Im riding the Cabrinha Drifter now for some sessions. With this kite I can defenitely take my surfing to a new level that is even less driven by the kite.
