Thumbs Up

We're all here to enjoy and enhance our sport, so the "rules" for posting in this forum are pretty simple:

1. Be good to others.
2. Keep it fun.
3. Keep it clean - no swearing, harrasement etc.
4. Keep it fun.
5. Keep it legal!
6. Keep it fun.
7. No Advertising.

What are we all here for? To discuss kitesurfing - last time I checked it's something we do for fun.

These forums are an extension of that. Our goal is that they extend the sport - and add to the fun.

Zero Tolerance! Any member posting direct abuse towards another member, or inappropriate material will be immediatelly suspended, without notification.

What you can expect from us, as operators of the forums:

We will do our best to ensure that these forums are a friendly environment.

We will do our best to remove posts and members who harass, abuse or bully others.

We will do our best to ensure that these forums are free of pornography and obscenity.

What we expect from you:

Do your best to keep it clean, fun and informative.

Be understanding of others - they may be stressed, arrogant, stupid, smart, young, old, right, wrong .. who knows!

Don't take the forums too seriously! Topics often go off the rails when people start reading far too much into others comments.

Keep focused on what's being said and not who's saying it.

Only post while sober! Those that post drunk usually regret it the next day.

Avoid defaming people or businesses, not matter how 'in the right' you are.

A special story about advertising:

Some forum members are site sponsors, you'll see a "Site Sponsor" link under their name. These members have purchased banner advertising which they use to display their brand and make offers about products and services they have available. This works well for everybody.

We ask that sponsors:
* avoid starting new topics to promote product/demo days,
* avoid posting direct invitations to purchase,
* avoid posting links to their website,
* avoid posting price lists, sale brochures, bargains, "stock clearance" etc.
* avoid posting competitions without checking with us beforehand
* avoid posting 'Like Us On Facebook' campaigns

..all of these things are best performed through your banner. If you'd like to do any of the above, it is possible - please contact us to discuss alternative solutions.

There will be times when a member is explicity asking where to purchase an item, or for specific product information, and in these situations its ok for sponsors to provide answers.

When sponsors do post, we ask that you give them some latitude. If you're concerned that a sponsor may be ruining your experience of the forums, please contact us first, rather than flaming the poster.

If you want to promote demo days, or have news, please enter it into the Events system or News system - use the "News" menu and look for the "Add" button (conditions apply).

Not a site sponsor, but want to promote your goodies?

You'll find your local council has laws saying that it's illegal for you to stick posters and advertising on council property - "Bill posters will be prosecuted". Most businesses accept this and don't put their posters and stickers all over signs, traffic lights, bridges, tunnels, etc.

Please do not plaster your adverts/promos in/around the site - please contact us via the feedback page to find out how we can work out together to find a solution for you.

Also, please refrain from posting 'Like Us On Facebook' campaigns

Overseas Purchasing / "Why Are We So Ripped Off"

These are classic "chestnut" topics that come up now and again, where posters a) accuse Australian businesses of ripping the customer off because an item might appear cheaper from overseas, or b) start publishing overseas deals and invite members to purchase/investigate them too.

Posts of this nature will be removed.

Other stuff:

Note that if you post your personal email in a message in the forums, 'web scanning' software used by spammers will pick it up and you will get spam. This has nothing to do with seabreeze.com.au!
