Hi

I have been learning to kite and am just getting up on the board and am happy with the progress after
much frustration.

When I am self landing, I drop the kite to the beach on its wing tip in neutral and then I pull on the upper centre line
BUT the kite does a 180 degree roll and sits upside down [ hope that makes sense ] instead of just flopping over and down

I still have control and so I just walk up the centre lines and flip the kite over.

I am clearly doing something wrong but I cannot find out what. the vid's on U tube don't really help.

Anyone offer some advice please

regards

Teddy

... depends on what kite you have to how it behaves, so what kite is it?

Sounds like you're self landing just fine.... There's really no need to yank the top line and try and sit the kite down.. 9 times out of ten if its too windy it'll just power up and take off again... I just walk up the lines holding both gradually walking upwind at the same time... I have no probs ever even in the strong stuff.....

Try also walking upwind slightly as it lands and you're pulling the top line.

The walking upwind thing is the key!
