Bro my tag won't pick up any gps signal, no matter if it's at the beach, in a paddock on on top of a hill. I'm a little cranky.
Soloshot wont get back to me.

Sounds like a faulty tag tbh, if your unit picks up the GPS then the tag should too. pretty much the only thing you can do is turn it off and back on again i think, possibly update it if you haven't already. The down side of mass production is every now and then a broken unit will slip through the cracks.

Got mine this week. No problems with my ss3. Got two tags. Both are working.
Here is my test footage.

Feel like sending one of your tags to me so I can try yours out and see if it is my tag that's faulty. I'll pay for postage?

How do you know if the unit picks up the gps. All I can see is if the tag picks it up.

At at this stage I'm super disappointed.

Kemp go to 9m 15secs... same issue, he did a Firmeware update and fixed it. Now show us if it can pick up a big jump - fast enough

Not much change out of $1000 AUD. for optic25 model.
I paid $650 AUD with two tags. but that was 2 years ago when I placed my order.

Here's mine.. works perfectly. This was fist test.. didn't really know what to go for so I just used the generic settings.Video is deliberately left long so you can see the camera zoom in and out and multi altitude levelling. Only lost me once when I passed too close to the camera, then it found me 30 secs later.
still to test with 2 tags..

Initial comments:
needs to be kept out of the wind, shakes a bit at high zoom .. and perhaps a better tripod LOL

Sirv nice one cheers.
Looks a little sleepy catching up too you a couple of times...but better filming job than the Mrs does by a long shot.
It does rapid shot stills yea?? Or do you have to rip it off the video for that.....
I would buy one but I'm too worried when delivery will be 2weeks or months or years...I can't part with $1200 not guaranteed delivery or is there....

My first successful session with the Soloshot3.
Tracks very well. Had about 90% Usuable footage.
Next time I will put tag on the arm that faces the camera. I should get even better long distance tracking.

Thinking about getting one these, now that a few of you gents have a couple of months with it.

do you think the 25zome is enough or def go the 65?

and do you still think its a worth while purchase?

thanks

You should probably just go the 65X richo, that way you'll get me in the frame too ;)

I got my Soloshot3 recently and made a video about setting it up. I got some great results when using it for foil surfing footage but the camera lost the tracking after a while. Mine still seems to have a few small bugs but Soloshot promised to address them with a firmware update. I'm pretty stoked so far. This is the first video about setting it up, more videos coming soon:

I have the Optic 25. Which is plenty of zoom for my location.
Works well with the latest firmware.
You need to protect it from the wind if you want shake free footage.
Its great to be able to review your whole session when you get home.
The picture quality is ok,
Battery life is not a issue.

Haa I like the jump where the camera 'thought' you should have landed it..

I bought one a week n a half before Xmas and it arrived on the Friday arvo before..
A bit pricey with 65 lens - a bit of money for import duty..

Should be fun though as I have no idea where that freckn kite gets too sometimes

I sold mine after a week. When the wind was up, and you were some distance away it shook too much
