Zephhyrs, Edges, Dynos and race, foil boards are for light wind now. I was looking at an old kite magazine amd remembered this gem.

DAVE… Its good fun with a Zephyr and a standup especially with little kids.

If you fall off the kids paddle over to you. Everyone laughs and off you go again. (its not so funny when they fall of though).

The source was based on the old wipika , if you own one you can see , Raphael actually gives credit to the old wipika design

yes I know. 2010 and a 2 line kite with no depower was the answer to lightwind kiting and safety. Could most of us relaunch it?

lightwind kiting has come a long way, I think it's had huge leaps from this. The Zephyr, Edge (mabe Chrono)dyno etc. has made it awesome.

(I use a 9'6 mal, 10m Best TS in light winds with my girls 7,10,14)

Yes light wind in Perth is 10-15 knots.

In 2010 I flew a 2008 16m Contra and a 10m Switchblade back to back on a big board in 12-16knot winds variable. Yes the 10m once you were riding and could sign it to get apparent wind went so much further upwind than the static pull and unresponsive 16, also it didnt hindenburg.

Waiman and Best were the first companies to change the aspect ratio of their kites depending on wind range. Best TS 15 and 17 were way different to the 6-8m in profile and in construction, same goes with the rabbit Vs Big Mamma. Any decent kite company can do a good kite in the 15-35knot range, yet the developments have been more in lightwind as aerodynamic profiles have become more refined.

8-15knots I never wanted to SUK
