Met some guy on the beach today who said there was a really serious injury at inverloch about 3 weeks ago. Some guy airlifted. Anyone know anything about it?

yep....

Dude had a head on with a windsurfer while on a speed run. He's lucky to be alive.

Injury was potentially serious but from what I hear, his wetsuit held his guts in.

Yeah, I was actually talking to him down at Inverloch on Sunday. He gave me the run down on what happened, basically heading down the speed lane, pulled out to pass a windsurfer and didn't see another windsurfer coming in the opposite direction. The board speared him in the stomach and well yeah, the wetsuit comment sounded about right. He managed to drag back to the sand and then had to be airlifted with his guts half hanging out.

Just one of those things. He is a really experienced kiter by the sounds of the discussion I had with him, so evidence that sometimes s**t just happens...
